I don’t believe that is the purpose of Romans 7:7 at all. Paul was explaining how the law worked before the new covenant, not how it is relevant for today. Notice how in verses 5 and 6 Paul tells us we are delivered from the law that brought us death. Then in verse 7 he asked the question that many would be asking after he identified the law as bringing death. If the law brought death then was the law sin? He answers that it was not.

When Jesus died He cried "It is finished" and gave up the ghost.
What was finished?
His life? No, although dead His life would be taken up again in 3 days, and He knew that it would.
Was His ministry finished? No, it continues today in each of our lives, we are to carry the Gospel to all nations.
Fact is the end of the law is death He was the only one that could live the law and thus be the only sacrifice for sin. So in His death He fulfilled (satisfied) the law.
We are to live according to the law it has not been done away with. It has only had the end or verdict paid for.
There can be no more sacrifice of blood as in animal sacrifice and circumcision. Circumcision being the act of putting away of the flesh.
I, by my own means, could never put away my flesh. It is too much apart of who I am.
Now I ask, How does one find favor with God if one can not live the law nor cast away ones flesh?
By Faith I Trust In Those Words of Jesus' last breath,

Because as a born again child of God we are to be like Christ and He lived the law without flaw. To that reason we are compeled to be like Him. If He lived it then while we are here lets put our feet into the steps that Jesus left.
There will many times when our steps or stride is not landing the same as His did. We are not to fear for retribution but to attain again to the stride that He left. We attain or reaquire it by asking for our Lord's help through repentence.

Actually, I was looking not only at the entire context of the passage, but the whole Bible. But please feel free to explain where you feel I've erred.

If you uphold the law then you are under the law. We do not serve the law but instead serve the will of God that is revealed through the Holy Spirit.

Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Romans 3:31

It's the Bible.

And how do we know what is sin?

Again, and this isn't for your benefit but for those that missed the distinction: although we cannot rely upon keeping the law for salvation, we are still to be obedient. It cannot save, and that is the distinction. But it is a manifestation of true faith. Also, take another look at the posts about ceremonial and moral law.

What is that law written upon our hearts? Why does Jesus still preach the keeping of the law and the prophets? Why does He say that if we love Him we must keep His commnadments? When the rich young ruler asked Jesus what He must do to be saved, why did Jesus lead Him through the commandments? This man was loved by God.

The understanding lies in the distinction between obedient upholding of the law as a manifestation of grace, and relying upon our works and lawkeeping to save ourselves.

To establish the law does not mean to keep it - it would say so if it did. It means to set it in place and confirm it.
The law is set in place (or confirmed) in regard to its utility to drive us to a relationship with Christ by faith by virtue of the impossibility of keeping the law (Hence Gal 3:24). Our declaration of faith is that which establishes the law, tacitly, forced by the impossibility of coming by law. This is what it means to establish the law: "set in place/confirmed (regarding its utility)".

You only get one shot at keeping the law. Once it is broken even in the most infinitesimally small way, it is over: you must be crucified.

Once you are crucified, you do not become born again in order to try again, for the law has no jurisdiction over you: it can't find you, nor does it search for you.(According to its records, you're dead.)

And this is the grace we have received.

This doesn't sound like establishing to me. How then do you define sin? If there is no law, there is no sin either. I need to see how my context was erroneous. Look at the first three chapters of Revelation. Jesus says the churches who overcome are given the crown of life. Overcome what? Look at all the verses on repentance. Repent of what? The scripture says we establish the law, not establish our failure in the law. That's not what scripture says.

This doctrine is one of the most misused of all time, used to nullify the doctrine of repentance.

That's not what it says. Sorry-repentance and obedience are still very much required.

Grace is not a license to sin. How do we know what sin is without the law? Shall we continue in sin?
