Basically, I'm looking for a new job.
I still have the one with Agency A, which is the place I worked at last year. But with the merger and the new staff in the office, things are not going well, and the last straw was when I realized they were paying me a dollar less an hour than I thought I was getting paid (due to a phone conversation with my old boss), asked them to fix it, and was basically told that it's not going to change. I know I'm worth that extra dollar, because I'm getting paid that for the job I have with Agency B.
So, I'm looking for a full-time job and as soon as I have one, I will quit working for Agency A. The only reason I even stayed with them in the first place was because I absolutely adore the 4yo I work with through them, and I really like the whole family. They're not making it worth my while. And with a real full-time job, I'll get *benefits*. This is a good thing, I need to get a prescription filled and I need to see the dentist for a checkup.
I'm hoping that my hours at the new job (whatever/wherever it is) will be negotiable to some extent so that I can still work with my school-aged kidlets after they're done school.
I'm sticking to my field. After five years working with autistic and special needs kids, it would be damaging to my career to try for a secretarial/office assistant type position. So, I'm applying to the school board and I've applied for another great-looking position.
Please pray for this situation - that I would be offered the job(s) God wants me in... that I would be able to figure out what and how to tell my kidlet's Mom that I'm quitting (when the time comes)... yah.
Thanks.
