  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I did afterschool day care for several years and it did help out. I also didn't have the children all day, only after school. that helped my sanity.

I worked for a local needlework publishing company too. I would stitch the models that were then photographed for the books. It was fun. Didn't make a lot of money but every little bit helped.

I know there are some companies that just them on assignment rather than like I do working for them all the time. Also, she could check into being one of those sample ladies at the grocery store, but then that shoots your weekends away.

PM me with any questions that I might be able to help you with.

God Bless!

I did tupperware while dh was studying. It pretty much sells itself because it is so well known. You make your own hours, and do as much or as little as you like. I have known of people who make a lot of money doing this - depends what you want to make of it. I just did little stuff, as my eldest was pretty young at the time, and I could rely on too much babysitting. You start by doing a couple of parties for friends and go from there. Plus there is no financial outlay - your profit from your first few parties goes to buy the kit.

yes, that is a good idea erin.

I also sell Avon. I guess there is some good money in it, but I am not much of a salesperson. I sell enough to get things that I like and I can buy them without feeling like the money should have been spent on someone else, so it is well worth it to me.
I get perfume and other items that are "wants" that I wouldn't normally buy for myself.

I sell Avon too. I make a couple hundred a month. It helps. But she'd have to like the products to do well. I've noticed that people who don't really use it, but just want to make money, don't.

I have a friend who was really sucessful selling Pampered Chef. I love that stuff, but won't give up weekends to do parties for people. And that's the same for most of this stuff - Princess House, Home & Garden, Southern Living, etc. Heather will be out in the evenings and weekends for parties. Although, since she works retail already, her schedule might not be that different.

I signed up to be a personal shopper but found it was pointless in our area. You live in a more urban area than I do, so it might be worth it. She'll have to lay out her own money to complete the assignments, but then she'll be reimbused. Sometimes you don't get paid you just get to keep what you bought or the meal you ate (nice of them).

Ebay is ok, if she knows what she's doing. You have to be really organized and then you're filling your house with mailing supplies and junk, waiting for auctions to end and for people to pay you.

OK, I'm not being very constructive here Jacks...But that's because I have found these legit work from home jobs to be non-existant.

That is actually very constructive....
Heather is really not cut out for selling anything. And she just doesn't use much make up. We looked into a bunch of the work at home ideas, the secret shoppers, stuffing envelopes, assembling crafts. I don't think any of them will actually be too lucritive. We actually live in a pretty rural area too.
Heather is looking into going full time working at Lowes. It'll be overloading all her circuits but now we are talking about really strapping down and paying off all our debt.
I will be trying to find a Part time job selling carpet. Along with Part time school and full time job.
All prayers are appreciated. ! =)
