I can't believe it's happened so quickly but I think I've really ruffled the evil one's feathers. I know you NEVER blaspheme the Holy Spirit but the evil one is putting words into my head. I'm not saying them; I'm praying in English and in tongues and have been looking in the Word at all the verses that say God overpowers him. I've been saying out loud away from me devil, I'm God's child but don't know what else to do.

I understand why this is happening; things are going well with me; my language is coming along and I am feeling that I have something special within me. I'm God's daughter and the evil one has no place in me but my inexperience is showing and he's trying to take advantage.

Please help me.

Don't worry! I had a feeling something like this would occur after you experienced such a beautiful blessing. :)

I had the same happen to me. I read about blaspheming the Holy Spirit, and what do you think happened fairly soon after? In my mind, a voice would state the most horrible obscenities against the Holy Spirit!

It happened on and off for years, until a recent encounter with God. What I learned to do then was - as obvious as it sounds (isn't it funny how we miss obvious things?) - is to state the opposite out loud to what the voice inside said. There is power in the tongue. So I'd say something like, "I love the Holy Spirit", and I meant it! And the voice subsided.

But there really isn't any set formula, and my affirmations of love towards the Holy Spirit are only important because I was speaking out, and I was speaking life (in opposition to the blasphemy and death being 'spoken' into my head.) Some suggest things like rebuking what is going on in Jesus' name (as you have been doing), and while I am sure that does work, I found it unhelpful because it made me concentrate on that voice (or those voices) even more!

Whatever you do, don't take credit for the voice like I did, no matter how much it resembles your own interior monologue! There is no need to go through that misery. Ignore it, oppose it, but perhaps even more so speak out your adoration and love towards the Holy Spirit whenever it rears its ugly head - eventually, it won't be able to stand any more. :)

Sounds to me like he's already got a foothold in you if he's making you fearful you're on the verge of committing the "unpardonable" sin. If you've already been saved, that's not even a possibility. So, maybe a good place to start is to get rid of that fear he's successfully bound you in already.

No wonder the attack is so powerful. The enemy is already in the camp.

1 John 4:18 "Perfect love drives out all fear."

Think of the things the Lord has done for you, how He's shown His Love to you. No price was too high that He wouldn't pay for you, to have you near Him and know His great Love. Think of the people He has placed in your life for relationship and fellowship.

Don't be discouraged - this is another common attack of the enemy. Greater is He Who is in you than the moldy enemy who has "short man's syndrome".

AudioArtist, thank you so much for your lovely post and it's good to know I'm not alone with my feelings. Like you said, I only read about it and within a few hours you know who was trying to mess with my head. I have been saying out loud 'I love the Holy Spirit' and ignoring anything else in my head. I have a strong will (ask my husband ;)!)

Faulty, I don't think I'm on the verge of saying what the evil one wants me to say - I WON'T do it. I was saved in January 2009 and I'd say have a pretty strong faith; this has been increased by baptism of the holy spirit 4 weeks ago. Just sharing it online with you all has helped and I realise this is a common strategy of his. He knows when he's beaten but won't go down without a fight will he! Yes, he may be in the camp but he's packing his bags :amen:

Thank you so much for this; his love for me is immense - far bigger than I can comprehend I'm sure. I am safe in His arms and I praise the Lord for that.

Anytime you come under attack - rejoice - that means you have poked your finger in the enemy's eye. When we moved we Blessed our land from corner to corner - we walked the bounderies and asked God to station His angels round about and I have always felt like there was a canaopy from corner to corner.

We again walked the bounderies and prayed God's protection over our home and land, cars and all we own. That was 2 weeks ago - here has been the last 2 weeks, our computer crashed, had to replace our TV, our cell phone went into lock mode - I never even knew how to lock it, car broke down, skill saw broke, battle over the dishwasher with people we bought it from, bad dreams, dental nightmare, and on and on it goes.

When the enemy loses some ground, he will pull out the big guns, but our God will win the battle, He will give us the strength to fight the onslaught of the attack - just hang in there, sing His praises, constantly talk to Jesus and thank HIm for His Holy Spirit. If there is no attack against God's children that would be a bigger worry - because the attacks are proof that with God's help - we are winning over the enemy. Just keep moving in the direction you are going in - you are doing a great job.

First: Let me just mention that persecution is promised. Now someone who is good doesn't make you promises that are not good. So there are things good to get out of the persecution. Understanding, is one of the good things that we get when attacked. Perseverance is another good thing. Paul told about a thorn in his side that the Lord would not let him get rid of. So it must have been good, in some since, for Paul to have it. Knowledge is another good thing that comes from the experiences.

Still when it is happening you probably feel more like smacking anyone that bringings up the possible good things that will result from the attack. Still I brought it up in case my other suggestion don't work.

First suggestion - Talk to the Lord. If you can get a running conversation going with the Lord, the devil flees. One of the main reason for the gift of tongues is to get us to listen to the small voice of the Lord. [I don't want to go into that here] And one of the main reason for God allowing the attack [and the Lord once told me that Satan couldn't do anything unless God allowed him] is that we learn to turn back to the small voice of the Lord and ask Him about it.

The first suggested plan for any problem must be turning to the Lord for advice. God allows us to have problems so that we will seek Him. So I always recommend doing that first. Still sometimes, because of circumstances and our little faith, we have trouble hearing Him.

Second advice - If you are having trouble hearing from Him, use the authority you have to send the evil spirit away. As children of the Most High God and as part of the Kingdom of God, we have authority like little princes and princesses. So you can tell the attackers to go. It's your life, your house, your room, and you have been given authority over it, so you have every right and the authority to tell demons to go. There is still a question of power to enforce it, but clearly you have the authority, so you should tell them to go, and even if they don't they have still been told. Sometimes you will find that they do leave based upon your authority alone, because even a little princess still has a lot of authority.

Third advice - Put power behind your request. If someone comes into your house and you tell them to leave but they won't leave, what might you do next. You might call the police to enforce your position. So call in the Lord of hosts. "God, I asked them to leave and they are not leaving. Unless you really want them here, would you please removed them?" Send up some pray like that, and remember to listen. This might be the very thing that gets you back to the first suggestion, and the responces can be rather interesting. Remember, checking the responses is real important at this point. Make sure you are hearing from a spirit that tells you "Jesus Christ came in the flesh", or "Tells you that Jesus Christ is their Lord and they serve Him." [1 Jn 4:1-3, 1 Cor 12 2:3]

Fourth advice - Put on praise music and start praising the Lord. Even ask the Lord to send an angel of Praise. God promises to live in His praises. And it is written that if you keep God close the devil will flee. It probably won't get to this point, but if for some reason you are having trouble hearing the Lord, and while the Lord will certainly chase of the spirits as asked, but if He hasn't gotten to them all yet, the praise music and thus the presence of the Lord makes it all seem ok.

There are some other things to try also. If you have someone else around that is willing to pray for you, it is written that one can chase a thousand and two ten thousand. Often you find out that it was a problem of numbers. So what do you need to do if the demons name is 'Legion'?

You can bind up and loose angels. Of course you bind up demonic angels. If the demon is trying to get you to curse God, and there is a spirit that does that, you can state that you would like the demon that is trying to get you to curse the Lord bound up, and it is written that what is bound up on earth will be bound up in heaven.

Also note: Loosing the angel that serve the Lord is not the same thing as telling them what to do!! He gives His angel charge of you, not vis-versa. When we loose angels, we give them authority to do their work in and around us. So like you have authority to tell demons to leave, you also have authority to invite angels to come. So loosing angels that serve the Lord is like giving them an invitaion to help you out. The angels that serve the Lord love to help out. So loose Joy, Happiness, Humor, Grace, Mercy, Focus, Sucess, Obedience, Patience, Caring, Logic, Prayer, Evangelism, etc. His angels are ministering angels and it is written that by a multitude of counsellors there is victory. Let them minister to you.

Oh, Prayer and Evangelism might be very important at this point. We are told to pray for our enemies, and who are our enemies if not for those attacking us. So pray for those spirits attacking you, and tell them that they should consider serving the Lord. They might not believe you, and turn to the Lord, but why think they couldn't or wouldn't?

Certianly Satan would tell his demons that there is no turning back to the Lord, but is that actually true? Were there not demons also involved with putting Jesus on the Cross. When Jesus said Father forgive them, was it only meant for people? I don't absolutely know the answer to those questions, put if I am instructed to pray for them, I might as well evangelize to them also.

Maybe they would leave because I was telling them to serve the Lord, but that was what I was hoping for anyway. Maby they would get upset, but they were are ready upset. Maybe they would by some miracle turn back and serve the Lord. I don't know that is possible, but if all things are possible with God, woe to me if I say that it is not possible with God. Preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified. And if demons just happen to be handy because they are attacking you... Well then... take the opportuninty. Tell those demons about the Lord and the wonderful things He does for you. Tell them to turn back and serve Him our Lord. YOU WILL BE AMAZED!!

Thanks everyone for your responses. I've just got back from a lovely walk with the children and dog and cleared my head. I prayed quietly whilst I was out and can't hear anything untowards from any unwelcome visitors.

Before I went out I was listening to my Delirious CD whilst always makes me feel strong, also been laughing and playing with the children so had a very good morning. I'm going to try to go to Church this evening (if my husband is home on time from his weekend away); if not I'll go upstairs and read the Word some more and pray.

Thanks again :)

Before Jesus started his earthly ministry, he was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted by the devil. IOW, he had to take the time to listen to Satan, and consider what he had to say!

So much of the time we try to avoid what the Devil has to say. But really, he can't make us sin. We do that part all on our own.

I've actually come to appreciate the Devil. He looks deep inside my heart, and finds problems I never knew were there. Sure, he then tries to get me to act foolishly upon them, but that part can easily be ignored. Or repented for, when I happen to slip.

Satan can't force us to sin. Sin comes from the heart. If he is forcing you to say certain words, then those words themselves have no meaning. It is only if they hold true in your heart that you might have a problem. If that is the case, then simply turn to God, expose your newly discovered sin to Him, and let Him deal with it! He is loving and forgiving, and often works on correcting these kinds of sins in me after the Devil has brought them to light.

I have noticed this kind of activity whenever I have a breakthrough of some kind. Lots of distractions and people just "attacking" me for no reason. I also hear terrible comments from the enemy just like you but I just recognize them and throw them out. If I don't give them place in my mind then the enemy also has to go!

Are you a "goal" oriented person? Maybe you might be "trying" to get everything working as quickly as possible and this is creating anxiety and fear... ???

:clap::clap::clap:

Absolutely right. There is a reason that God allows the devil to exist and do what he does. Part of that reason is that in serveral ways the accuser can make us better. He forces us to look at our actions. He forces us to persevere against him. So like pushing weights if you want to get stronger or an athlete playing against other talented teams, battling against powers and principalities strengthens us and helps us grow.

And the great part is that the Lord already has the victory for us, so we can't loose, we just get better.

Well, before we turn into a bunch of Satanists, who sit at the feet of Satan listening to everything he has to say... ;)

Jesus let him have three good shots, before he rebuked the Devil and sent him away. If we don't take authority over him, the guy can be absolutely relentless!

There is a big difference between listening to Satan because God wants you to hear him out, and listening because you are interested in alternatives to God's perfect plans. Apparently there is a season for everything (under the sun!) A time to rebuke the Devil, and a time to hear him out.

II Tim. 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and a sound mind.

The greatest power we have is the power to call on the name of Jesus Christ and to plead "the blood of Jesus Christ" over our minds and our bodies.

I will pray for you through-out my day that God will make His deliverance known to you.

Greater is He that is in you, then He that is in the world.

Smiler do you have someone a sister in the Lord to pray with you and agree that this attack will be stopped? It really helps to have another person along side when fighting a battle of this magnitude. One of the things that helped me was that I realized that satan was just shooting his firey darts at my mind. Ephesians 6. As I affirm that I wear the helmet of salvation and renew my mind taking the sheild of faith to understand the scriptures that assure me of full salvation these are quenched and get less frequent. I recently upadated one of my blogs here on CF on this topic. gg

Something Dave Roberson pointed out on his teaching about praying in the Spirit. We're asking God in the prayer language to purify us. Sometimes when we pray in the Spirit, we begin to see ugly things about ourselves that the Holy Spirit is showing us. These are places that the enemy has a foothold. We've given place by our words or actions, and attitudes.

As Dave points out (and God confirmed), if you press on in the Spirit, God will remove these from you permanently (or at least until you give place to them again, if you make that mistake). This gives you confidence to press on. As I have heard from others who pray often and long in the Spirit, it's glorious and God works a level of purity in you that works a deep peace and a lasting joy.

Fasting is supposed to be part of a believer's life. Missing a meal or two here and there goes a long way to keeping your ears clean.

The point of this is that we can look forward to winning battles and cooperating with the refining work of the Holy Spirit, bear wonderful fruits and hearing God's voice, making sure that we truly are a house of prayer.

Too bad you guys aren't in the Dallas area. I'd direct you to a wonderful worship service that takes place Friday evening. It lasts about 3 hours, and it is glorious! This is another cure for oppression. Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

Some how a copy of the post "gratefulgrace" made addressed to "smiler" ended up in my personal email outside of CF. Any idea how this happened? Studybuddy
What??? That is totally weird. You mean my previous post? I don't even know your private email. maybe we should ask the MODS about that as it is kind of freaky. I just gave you reps but nothing before that. gg
