Now that is the most inaccurate statement I have ever read.Christians are not impervious to being killed, or theft and moths stealing/destroying their possessions.
No its not inaccurate. Jesus told us that thieves and moths would destroy our wealth, and for that reason not to store it on earth. I dont know what teacher you are listening to but they are wrong. Now that is the most inaccurate statement I have ever read.
You are using a bit of scripture referring to treasures laid up in Heaven against the actions of satan here in this life.
1Peter5:8
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
I think we can all be reminded of the Lords words about creating offenses.curious, was this thread started due to other threads on CF
wondering as another forum that I was a member on, if there was a discussion started about another thread/because of another thread, powers that be considered it a meta-discussion and it was not allowed
am sure that wasn't your intent, however
I think we can all be reminded of the Lords words about creating offenses.
Yes, of course it does. We should speak the truth. I'm not sure how hard we should try to convince someone to change their views. We should, instead, proclaim our faith, and let the Holy Spirit do the work of converting. And you'll notice that these long back and forth arguments never persuade anyone of anything. It's a waste of good time.Does debate ever become a stumbling block or offense? If so how should we avoid it?

We should be sharing, not persuading.
Ok, im not even sure what we are disagreeing about anymore, lol. Never mind and thank you for the reply.Again the scriptures you bring do not have one single thing to do with what I posted.
You can not take scriptures speaking on one thing then decide you can make them apply to something else.
I suggest you find out who your enemy is and how he operates because with this thinking, your like a sitting duck.
Blessings
It's much more like sports for children. Some people don't want any winners or losers. They want everyone to win and nobody to lose. If you don't agree with that, then you're a loser. Oddly that doesn't explain why they don't believe there can't be any losers.Does debate ever become a stumbling block or offense? If so how should we avoid it?
Matthew 18:7 (NASB) 7 “Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!
Matthew 18:7 (NKJV) 7 Woe to the world because of [a]offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!
Amen and within this, they don't care if the verse is out of context or not for all they care about is being seen as right.I am reminded of something my Pastor said recently.
SO MANY Christians decide to take a position, then they look around for Bible verses to "prove" their point of view.
Does this represent a humble and teachable spirit ... a person learning ftom the Lord???
