Wait a minute.Husbands have to submit to Christ too. He is the head of man.It is God's direction for order..as you've pointed out.Likewise, wives submit first to Christ, and then to their husbands as Christ has said - it is GOD'S direction for order.
And it is the TRUTH that sets us free, not rebellion.
One can submit either to oppression or out of freedom. But a dynamic which reduces women to be less than their husbands is oppressive. Christ is never oppressive.

So what you're saying is that the only persons who are free not to submit to any man are women...because scripture certainly does require men to submit to other men, whether it's oppressive or not. Actually, particularly if it's oppressive.

Hey there. Sounds like you have a pretty good knowledge of what I'm getting at. God bless.If I were to say I wanted a "real" mean, by that I'd mean someone who's grown up. Who takes responsibility in his life and doesn't expect me to carry his emotional work, thought load or family obligations. (For example, being a wife doesn't make it my job to remind him that he has an appointment, buy his mother a birthday present, or take responsibility for initiating conversation around something which has irritated him).
What I notice among my peers is that we don't want husbands who, in effect, become the same kind of "work" for us that our children are. We want partners in life.
Wealth or not really doesn't come into it for me. I've been quite comfortable during the phases of our marriage where I've been the bread winner. (In fact I find that easier than being dependent).
