Titus 2:5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
1 Peter 3:1 Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives.
Ephesians 5:21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. 22 Wives, [submit] yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.
First, Paul pointed out that believers should submit to one another for Christ's sake. With this context in mind, by implication, with respect to the husband-wife relationship, a wife is to submit to her husband. Again, for the Lord's sake, husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, all alike should submit to one another.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should [submit] to their husbands in everything.
Elsewhere, Colossians 3:
18 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.
Husbands do not need to submit to their wives.
False, as we have already seen earlier. In the broader Christian context, we are to submit to one another. In the marriage context, wives are to submit to their husbands. A husband should consult his wife before making any decision. Ultimately, it is up to the husband to decide.
There are no families in the church?Eph 5:21 is not a part of instructions to families, but of previous instructions to church.
There are. But thats not the point.
What is the point precisely? There are. But thats not the point.
That the verse Eph 5:21 does not belong to instructions to families, but to previous instructions to church. What is the point precisely?
Just a thought maybe "this is what I believe". Does seem very simple to tell others exactly what we see yet sometimes we are not seeing all. I just have a hard time following listening to someone tell me what Gods word is really sayingTitus 2:5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

What aboutThat the verse Eph 5:21 does not belong to instructions to families, but to previous instructions to church.
Therefore, it does not apply to families (submitting to each other).
It's just good practice for me. Do you talk to your wife before making a decision? Also where did you get "A husband should consult his wife before making any decision."
I wish I would have 30 years ago. My arrogance and insecurity prevented me (hard heart?). Or to speak plainly, I Loved Myself Too Much! Lots of regrets. I am able to use myself as an example along with the truths of scripture to tell my kids "This is the reason you grew up in Hell." PeaceIt's just good practice for me. I decided to post this, possibly why Paul stressed women to be obedient. Interesting and informative.Titus 2:5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.

Can you cite some reference support?I decided to post this, possibly why Paul stressed women to be obedient. Interesting and informative.
The consequences of a wife disobeying her husband in 1st century Jerusalem would have depended on a number of factors, including the severity of the disobedience, the husband's personality, and the social status of the couple. However, in general, a wife who disobeyed her husband could expect to be punished in some way.
Some of the possible punishments for a disobedient wife included:
In the most extreme cases, a wife who disobeyed her husband could be stoned to death. This was the punishment prescribed by the Law of Moses for a wife who was found guilty of adultery (Deuteronomy 22:22).
- Being verbally abused or humiliated by her husband
- Being denied food or other necessities
- Being beaten
- Being divorced
- Being killed
Of course, not all husbands would have punished their wives for disobeying them. Some husbands may have been more lenient, while others may have been more harsh. Ultimately, the punishment would have been up to the husband.
It is important to note that the role of women in 1st century Jerusalem was very different from the role of women today. Women were considered to be the property of their husbands, and they had very few rights. As a result, they were often subject to the whims of their husbands, and they could be punished for even the slightest infraction.
The situation for women in 1st century Jerusalem was not ideal, but it was not unusual for the time. Women in other parts of the world at that time were also subject to the authority of their husbands. It was not until the Middle Ages that women began to gain more rights in Western society.
