It's just a matter of being obediant, and I personally will let God decide where and how the chips fall. God seems to work on his own scale, and the following should give you a pretty good idea of how it may work.

For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. He agreed to pay them a denarius for the day and sent them into his vineyard.

“About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ So they went. “He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’ “‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered. “He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’ “When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’ “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner. ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.’ “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’

“So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”...

— Matthew 20:1–16, New International Version
That has nothing to do with loving God with all your heart. It has to do with His grace in election.

Same thing, there is no sliding scale, there is God simply loving us, no matter how much of our heart we love him with. Just as the workers in the parabe, we all get credit, no matter how much we do.

Sorry I didnt explain the comparison, I thouht it was obvious.

That’s all well and good. But the OP isn’t about how much God loves us, but whether or not we can love Him with all of our heart on this side of eternity.

Hey Hammster.. pray your doing GREAT and so blessed in Jesus name. Answer is simple..yes.

It was told in the OT and NT love the lord your God with all your heart Deu 6:5. He would not say it if we could not do it. No one but no one controls us. We make those choices every day. I battle put to death the flesh every day. There were those that walked with God and were taken up. Even Job was called what? Blameless and upright.. no one on earth was like him. That was before Christ came.

So I don't know about anyone else but.. I don't have to give in to my flesh. I don't have to give in to one thought.. nothing. Our flesh is in a fallen world but... its not written our flesh rule us :)

So if I don't love Him with all my heart.. I alone did it. :) Is this how HE sees it? Theres so much more to this praise GOD glory to Jesus.

Can we, in our fallen-but-redeemed state here on Earth, love God with all of our heart? Or does our flesh prevent us from doing so?
Yep, we totally can.

In a sense, the commandments are also promises.

Jesus overcame while flesh, and said we will do greater because He went to the Father.

Do you, though?

So the thread question is "is it possible to love God with all of your heart, or does living in a human body make this impossible?"

The follow up question for people who say "Yes" is "but do you actually love God with all of your heart?"

This seems to follow a particular pattern of theological application that is designed to reduce people's faith in what God can do through carnal reasoning.

The thread isn’t about what God can do.
