I've been tossing around an idea for a startup that involves companies giving out free products to consumers. (Strangely enough, this actually takes place and happens all the time) The businesses get customer feedback, product testimonials, etc. But in order for my idea to be a success, I need to round up all reasons possible for a company to want to do this and implement them in my strategy. I think a good reason is to fix any issues or concerns with the product before it is put on the market.

You'll have to establish yourself a subject matter expert in the field.

In other words, research and study everything that you can on the subject. It's basically a form of marketing campaign.

Why would a company do this with you is pretty simple - it would have to make their job of putting their products on the market easier and it should make them more money (basically, that is the goal you will strive to achieve)
