• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey, maybe Wicca and Christianity can be lumped together because Christians historically used the pentacle and Wiccans now use it! ;)

Nah. Wicca isn't the same as any of the organized religions calling themselves "Satanism." I hope someday Christians learn that.

What about today? That'd be great.

Hey and satanists use it too.
I see a new religion being born today,
Satanic Christicca.
They worship a single nested-trinity God that they believe doesn't exist.
:)
:D Satisticca. The world's newest religion that sounds like it deals with statistics, but doesn't. I like it.

I'm pagan and I'm attempting to transfer to a private Christian college. It's not as if I'm going to corrupt and convert the Christians. They can try to convert me all they want (as long as they don't resort to violence) -- I'm strong in my beliefs.

Why?
It really depends on the College. I took summer school at a private christian high School (for a short but complicated reason) and it was fine. I never said I was pagan, they never bothered me with christian stuff, it all worked out. One of the best teachers I have had, as well.

A big football town I see.
Don't you know you are supposed to be inside watching God's holy game of football?

So, what you do is walk around with a bunch of Chick tracts in your pocket and a pentacle necklace. If anyone asks, just hand them a tract, if they look confused just stare at them till they go away. :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentacle
Wikipedia said:
Pentagrams were used symbolically in ancient Greece and Babylonia. The Pentagram has magickal associations, and many people who practice pagan faiths wear them. Christians once commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus, but nowadays some Christians associate the symbol with Satanism. However, most who use it are not Satanists.

According to Heather Child's Christian Symbols, Ancient and Modern (ISBN 0713519606), the pentagram is a symbol of the five senses. Also, when the letters S, A, L, V, and S are inscribed in the points, the pentagram is a symbol of health (Latin salūs).

 • The five points of the pentagram have been interpreted as representing the five wounds of Christ (2 wrist, 2 ankle and 1 side).
 • The Roman Emperor Constantine used the pentagram in his seal and amulet. 14
 • It has been referred to as the Star of Bethlehem
 • It was used to symbolize the star which allegedly led three Zoroastrian astrologers to the baby Jesus; it was called the Three Kings' star.
 • The English warrior Sir Gawain, a nephew of King Arthur, adopted the pentagram as his personal symbol and placed it on his shield. 7 It appeared in gold on a red background. The five points symbolized "the five knightly virtues - generosity, courtesy, chastity, chivalry and piety." 14
 • Tarot cards originally had a suit of coins or discs. These were changed in the 19th century to pentacles when the Tarot became associated with the Kabbalah. They eventually became the suit of diamonds in modern playing cards.
 • It has been widely used by past Christians as a protective amulet.
 • During the burning times when the Christian church burned alive or hung hundreds of thousands of innocent people, the meaning of the pentagram changed. It began to symbolize a goat's head or the devil in the form of Baphomet. "The folk-symbol of security - for the first time in history - was equated with evil and was called the Witch's Foot." 14

Its just so odd, we say we are a tolerante country but some peope here have to hide their religion because of some people. I wear ym pentacle while at work on checkouts and I get a couple of people asking about it, I usually try to shrug it off and I get excited wiccans/pagans, witches etc and I get the curious mis informed people and then I get the ones that bless me! Sometimes I get annoyed cause I know they are doign it cause they think what I am doign is wrong and htey HAVE to bless me cause its so bad, I suaulyl thatnk them cause hey nothign wrong with people giving u good wishes. Rescently I have been quite sick and goign into surgery soon and alot of my christian freidsn have ASKED if they can pray for me, which I find kidna weird I'm always like yes please can't have enough good thoughts and pray, I just fidn it so weird that people will ask if they can?!
