  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Will this disprove climate changes?

Well, think about it, if humans ate grass they needs aroudn five kg of it everyday since one hundred grams has around two grams protein, or perhaps they can live on less, I`m just estimating, my point is really, when dinosaurs lived there was animals as big as fifthy tons that ate perhaps 600 kilograms of grass and plants everyday and this was just one animal, think about all the billions of animals living at the same time eating huge amounts of foods much more than humans do today, so isn`t then climate change caused by humans just nonsense really even given that we use oil to fuel our cars and so forth, what do you think about it?

And, let`s say humans eat around 50 billions tons food everyday, I just took 5 billion people with an average weight of 50 kilograms, dinosaurs were aorund 7 billion at most some say, so they still would have eaten more than us humans did, I took the average weight of dinosaurs to be the same, I know people use cars and stuff but then they also eat less since they move less, that they become overweight has more to do with bad foods and stress probably, the average food consumption would have been higher with the dinosaurs since they were two billions more, but nonthless its not that big difference anyways, yeah then climate changes caused by humans are probably fictional in my humble opinion, so actually theirs character suffers more from using cars and so forth since they all know it`s wrong, it`s kinda all for nothing after all then hehe :p

Humans are involved in activities that move carbon stored in fossil fuels and releasing them into the air. This increase in CO2 is raising temperatures around the world.

Two issues:
- Will the earth system soak up the co2 being released and stabilize the temperatures?

Maybe so
maybe not

- Will we be able to stop the increase by ending fossil fuel use?

Not too likely.

I just meant that we use the same amount of food or "fuel" sort of today that the dinosaurs used, we eat less though since we always walk in the warmth inside houses mostly and use cars and so forth to move around in, but the sum is perhaps almost the same

But wouldn`t old oil deep in the ground oil turn to gasses after a certain amount of time anyways since the planet can`t store unlimited amounts of it?

Practically unlimited compared to the surface and atmosphere. Hydrocarbons can be underground for the long term on the geological time scale.

Hydrocarbon deposits take millions of years to form, and only years to mine. Which is why human activity is what is increasing CO2 in the atmosphere without a complimentary process to remove it.

No. Don't present your ignorance as pseudoscience. This is basic biology.

Dinosaurs did not drive cars or mine fossil fuels, their carbon came from their environment in the form of plants they ate that got their energy by carrying out photosynthesis. The plants got their carbon from the animals that breath it out. You absolutely use more fuel than a dinosaur who was limited to what they could eat.

Dinosaurs were limited in how much they could consume based upon there only being so many plants. Their population would also have been limited based upon natural factors because they did not practice agriculture to increase the amount of edible food available.

This is the Hatsfield ferry coal power plant. It can put 9 million tons of CO2 in the atmosphere per year.

It is the "animal" you should think about with humans.

I still don`t believe that humans causes climate changes though, It`s like, I walk in the forest sometimes which I have over many years and I can`t really see any changes

What an amazing insight. Congratulations, good sir, you have singlehandedly disproven decades of research by thousands of scientists because the forest you sometimes take a walk in doesn't look noticeably different to you.

Yeah I know but shouldn`t I notice something being different since climate changes affects all enviroments?

I can tell you that I have noticed some differences where I live.

There is less snow than in my youth. Last year was very hot and extremely dry, so dry I only had to mow the lawn three times through the entire year. About a dozen of trees died in our garden alone, in spite of watering them. This february I could walk around outside in a t-shirt and break a sweat.

Birds stop migrating. Polar bears start foraging in towns because there is no ice left. Polar ice and glacial ice gets less year by year and even in antarctica, its centuries-long growth is slowing down drastically.

I personally think you`re making it up only, people are very aggressive when they think they can find a way to control nature and people with some propaganda, you sort of see what you want to see in this case

And I personally think you're just writing that so that you can get a rise out of me.

If you're for real, I hope you have many years left in that comfortable bubble of ignorance you have erected around yourself.

Yes, one can always be mistaken of course, but people always nags about humanmade climate changes like they nags about everything else so I had in my heart to disprove it to get a little peace inside, I just want peace for once but people always make up something else to talk about :p
