I want to save myself and my precious family from this upcoming crisis. I wholeheartedly believe that modern world is on the edge of collapse, and we will lose almost everything we currently have. My friend showed me a book which was written by a fellow Christian who foresaw this event years ago and changed his lifestyle according to it. Should I follow his footsteps and go back to old ways? Or is there no point at all since the end times will come? What do you guys think?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't think I need to find smarter friends. If you look at history and do some research on fiat currency you can see an unprecedented economic crisis which has potential to wipe the modern world and leave us all homeless and hungry (even worse than the great depression) is on the way. The book is this https://tinyurl.com/yalhbvhs . I bought it and read some of it. Its content is surviving without a proper society. As its name suggets it tells you about the old ways people used to use in order to survive in the nature. Like how to make medicine out of plants, how to save your food, how to build a house etc.

I have read two economic crisis books. I/we have always lived simply and been generous. I would still say: do not fear. It leads to bad things to walk in fear ... and it is not biblical. I could recite several biblical verses and modern day examples of God's provision. Make sure the preparations you make are not because you are in fear, be willing to share, and please do not stockpile guns!
