  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

New creature, are you implying if you have not repented of even one sin you will go to hell?

yes

Romans 11:22
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Matthew 7:21

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Hebrews 10:26,27

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Backsliders wake up in hell when they die

No, the believers sins have been paid for in full. Jesus died on the cross knowing all of the sins we would ever commit, past, present and future. They are paid in full and the power of sin is broken in the believer's life so that they will not continue to sin willfully (1 John 3:9). Seriously, you who believe that you can lose your salvation. What is your biblical foundation to support that? Who are you trusting in? Are you trusting in yourself? You are either saved, or you're not. You are either in the light, or in darkness. You are either a child of God or of Satan. You CAN NOT go back and forth between the two. Those in Matthew 7:21-23 were trusting in their own performance, their own righteousness and good works, yet they were cast into hell. Why? Read verse 23, "Depart from Me, I never knew you, you who practice lawlessness." These people were never saved or born again, they continued practicing sin. They failed the test of 1 John 3:9. So called "backsliders" also fail the test of 1 John 2:19. Salvation is eternal and secure, but you must make sure that you indeed are saved. Read 1 John. Stop trusting in yourself and throw yourself upon Christ. No man will be justified by his performance or works, either before or after salvation.

Where is the part about repenting? I don't think Matthew 7:21 has to do with what your talking about.

repenting is the first step in getting saved - if you sin you have to do it over again

you repented for your past sins not the ones youll do tomorrow

Ezekiel 18

24But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
25Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?

26When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

29Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
30Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
31Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
32For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
