Hello, everyone!

I read Wild At Heart (by John Eldredge) last summer, and I was just wondering of your opinion of this book. I really liked it and thought he made a lot of good points. I thought that there was a lot of truth in it and that it was very insightful. But I tend to be rather easily convinced. Also, I am a woman, reading this book "for men." I recommended it to my dad, and he had some reservations about it, like about how in reality people are more complex than 3 desires in life. I have talked to several people that liked it (men and women), and also some who did not. What do you think?

Literally, it brought me into Christianity. The core message is universal and imperative for men and women alike to understand. It all comes down what you do with the wounds you have received in life. John tells us to take that pain to Christ in a way that awakens passion in Him and insite, humility and freedom in ourselves.

Dangerous message, no doubt. But dangerous can be good. :)

Incidentally, I'm going to the Wild at Heart retreat in April (in the Springs). Looking forward to being turned inside out!

I absolutley love this book! I'm even from the springs which is where John Eldredge is from. See my avatar up there. That picture is in Garden of the Gods. He talks about it in his book. It's looking awayIfrom the main part towards pikes peak, but nonetheless... If you liked this book, I would highly recomend his latest "Waking the dead". It's basically about the mythic potential within all of us to live life as it was meant to be lived.
