  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My wife is a great lady. She went back to work after I suffered a serious illness and couldn't work. It has been 13 years and she has moved up from a copy person to a buyer in three companies. The problem is that the companies either move or are sold out and then don't need extra buyers. We just moved from our old home of 28 years into smaller homes that are closer to where she got her last job. Now that company is selling out and she is afraid the same thing is going to happen all over. Nothing I say or do seems to be easing her fears. I’ve told her that the Lord has taken care of us for the past 13 years and why can’t she trust in Him now.

She needs prayer, big time. Please help…

Richard

Dear Richard:

I am praying for your wife and you during this time. I certainly will say a prayer.

May God grant your wife peace in the midst of this storm and a confirmation that she is a valued employee and that your needs will be met and so will your desires.

Many blessings,
NewSong

I understand exactly where this dear lady, your wife, is coming from. It would be unusual to not experience the feelings she has right now. I will lift her up and you too to Abba, Who is sooo much bigger than our fears.

Father You know so well that circumstances that appear to be unfolding before this dear lady's eyes yet once more. Hold her close and whisper Your promises to her heart. Remind her that You ARE in control and that You have promised each of us a future and a hope. Pour out Your tender mercies, loving kindness, and grace on these dear ones. Strengthen and sustain them during this murky time and enable them to see the sure Light, shining at the end of this tunnel of uncertainty, in the name of Yeshua, amen.

I love it when husbands ask for prayer for their wives! God's best to you Richard. :)

I add my prayers for your wife for peace and for the knowledge that God will continue to supply all your needs. And I pray that the new owners would see your wife's worth as an employee and keep her on and that it would happen quickly.

After 30 years of marriage we’ve become as one in many ways. One heart, One Love and One Lord. When she laughs, I laugh and when she cries, I cry. But this is a hurt that all I know about is to pray.

Richard, praying for your wife, that the Lord may ease her fears and give her strength in this worrying situation she sees herself in. May the Lord calm her fears and send her confidence that the Lord has promised to be always with us through our problems and to help us carry our burdens.
Asking this in the name of Jesus the Lord
Amen

I lift up StoryTeller's wife too Lord. I ask You fill her with Your peace and grace. Let her encourage herself in You the way David did...it is true encouragement and then open her heart and strength to the next step...even if it is "just standing".
