I dont know about God so I dont hold to the belief that He (or anyone) is in control of all things. Its possible, I suppose. But it doesnt feel that way.

In all things? No. But what we cannot do is have pity parties because things aren’t done the way we like. If there’s a problem somewhere, we pray for wisdom and act in a way that would honor God. We are still called to take dominion over the earth, so we should work towards that goal.

To me it seems absurd that whatever compensation youre currently paid is set by God in such a way that aiming higher would be to go against His order. Thats just asking to be a doormat; to be taken advantage of by others.

It’s not that aiming higher in and of itself is wrong. It’s the motivation behind it that could be wrong. And being bitter if the results don’t go your way is wrong.

The way that America does things=“the correct way”?
Maybe we have it backwards and should have the government mandate that every worker has to receive 6 weeks of paid vacation time?

Your post made it seem that the United Kingdom, (a nation that has its National Church included in the governance of its people), is somehow “wrong” because their government mandates paid time off from private employers for its citizens.

My post was asking that maybe, just maybe, the USA’s way is the deficient one?
