  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a fight with my dad whenever he comes back from work. I try to ignore him, he gets mad. Yet I ignore him because I don't want to fight and he knows it. Let's just say.. I have a supportive mom but UH.. A very abusive father. I'm turning 13 tomorrow. I got in a huge fight with him today.
He keeps telling me my friends don't care about me, I'm ugly without clothes on, a spoiled *****, my friends are using me, that I should trust what he's saying (the friend thing), he doesn't want me and my mom doesn't want me (but my mom told me it's not true), he's going to kick me out of the house when I'm 18 and everything. I don't get why.. :/ my religion is Christianity. I always talk to the pastor after Friday service, etc and he prays for me and so does my friends. But WHY does this happen. I want to know why this is happening to me.. Also, I've been through worse than this, but I'm putting my foot down. I'm also thinking about calling Child Services but it might hurt my mom.. I also know that not all my friends are true, but he just keeps hurting my ******* feelings . I'm really sorry for language, I'm just .. Skckdkkdiwifoow. Please. Also, if you want please pray for me.. My eyes are sore and weary, stingy with no love. Please.. Help..

Open the mind and heart of her mother to see what harm is happening here and to have the courage to confront the situation. In my own opinion, it sounds like your father has some very serious personal issues going on, and is taking out his frustration upon you, which is wrong..

Dear God i pray for this child to You today.. please make a way for this abuse to stop.. i know it's only You could make things in order for this family-- Please touch the heart of the father and make him know and realize his mistakes.. make him bow before You and be a father he's supposed to be for his children, I pray for the mother too, to have her action and do something to have a closure for this abuse.. I also pray for this kid to have the strong faith and lift all her problems to You. in Jesus' name, may the love and unity be restored again in this family. Amen.

Your father is definitely being very verbally abusive, which can be as bad as physically abusive, definitnely. Know you did nothing to deserve the abuse. It has nothing to do with you, just with his mental & emotional state.

I would be very surprised if Child Protective Service intervened for "just" verbal abuse. Having worked in the school system I saw how difficult it was to get them to intervene (maybe they are understaffed, don't know) for
serioius physical abuse.

Nevertheless your real father, your Heavenly Father, loves you so much He sent His Son to die for you in an incredibly horrible way! I will pray for you to be given wisdom and peace in relation to your father. Also I will pray for his salvation and that one way or another though you will be healed from the wounds you have received.
