You are saved when you answer these interesting questions:

Do you believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of our Almighty God?

Do you believe that our Lord Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary?

Do you believe that Lord Jesus Christ walked on this earth?

Do you believe that our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified and died on the Cross?

Do you believe that our Lord Jesus Christ died to cleanse you of all sin and to redeem you with our Almighty God?

Do you believe that Lord Jesus Christ rose again on the third day?

Do you believe that our Lord Jesus Christ sits on the right hand side of our Heavenly Father in the Heavenlies?

Do you believe that our Lord Jesus Christ has brought you back from the kingdom of darkness and bondage of Satan?

The floodwaters in 1 Peter 3:20-22 symbolises the baptismal waters, which in turn symbolises the salvation that can be obtained through our Lord Jesus Christ's death, see Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 2:38.

"He who believes and is baptised will be saved." (Mark 16:16)

the actualy ceremony of batism in water is like a confession to evrybody that you are changing your life. It is like a way of showing the decsion you have made to follow GOD and also it is the process of the repentance of your sins. Then the batism of the Holy spirit is where you are born again of GOD.

You might have noticed I've posted a lot concering baptism. But what is baptism for?Does it grant you salvation? The Bible only speaks of one person being saved without baptism and that was the thief on the cross to next Jesus on the day of His death.
Baptism's something God instituted.

Baptism's something God instituted to show other people.

Baptism's something God instituted to show other people He's entering into this specialized relationship with a person.

MY FRIEND,

If you answered "YES" to the questions listed by Elijah2 above, then step up and be Baptised. After that, the Holy Spirit will answer any further questions you may have.

Baptism in itself does not save you. It is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, through prayer, confessing your sins, asking forgiveness of your sins, and aknowledging that He walked on this earth...basically answering yes to the questions Elijah2 posted and confessing that before God in prayer.
Baptism is a representation of washing away your sins and becomming a new person. It's like Susie Luchsinger says in her song "Baptism"...down with the old man, up with the new..that's what it represents. It is also a public confession, showing that you have become a Christian and are not ashamed for others to know it.

repentance - turning from your sin that puts you in a debt to justice -- turning from that sin who's consequence is eternal death in Hell - turning from that and turning to God and His will - is necessary for salvation. Baptism is not, but spiritual baptism (being filled with the Holy Spirit) through accepting God's grace - is the real thing that water baptism just outwardly represents.

the ceremony of baptism (geez, that sounds really formal) is just a public declaration of your willingness to become a christian, to follow God all the rest of your days.

basically, when you go down into the water, it means your old self is dying and when you come up, you are born again with God, and into this new life that you have with God.

i hope this helps, im still trying to figure some stuff out with this. and preparing myself to become baptist soon, just as soon as i feel ready.
