  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why must we, the Christians, be persecuted for our believes? Public schools, for instance. Why can they ban the word "Lord" from the schools, fearing to offend those who do not believe, but do they not understand? Do they not understand that the ones who offended are actually Christians who are getting their believes shoved aside? Why must we be the ones persecuted, because we are the ones that are trying to spread happiness and goodness throughout the world? Why do people say that there isn't a God, and that the Earth was created in one large explosion? Why do they not understand? Why must generation of genertation of Chirstians stand for this, and somehow keep the Lord's teachings alive? Why?

Because satan's spirit is all around the world. Everyone who has his spirit hates Jesus. Every time they hear his name, they become hateful. For some reason, they're okay with Buddhism, Hinduism, etc. Everyone who takes up Jesus' Cross will go through persecution. Jesus told us that. It's going to happen and it's going to get worse because satan doesn't have much time left.

I rejoice in being persecuted. Jesus promised this would happen for us true believers. We all know He wins in the end.

When God sees how we are loyal to Him, He laughs at Satan, who doesn't command such loving loyalty from his followers. (My opinion) God is proving wise by the folly of His opponents.

God is proven right and wise and loving by the lives of us! I celebrate that.

Yes, we must be persecuted, but it should not be considered a difficult road:

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matt 11:28-30

Satan's time of doom has come and so he attacks us all the more out of desperation. Remember, however, that despite all people do against us and against our faith, JESUS CHRIST HAS WON! I was thinking of the persecution of Christians going on in the world when I remembered what Justin Martyr, an early Christian said when he was threatened with death for his faith: 'You can kill us but you cannot hurt us.' Remember that, however powerful they appear, those who persecute can do nothing to separate you from Christ. This is why God allows the world to continue with persecution: more people need to come to Christ and be saved. God wants to see no sinner die, but all to repent and live. Satan wants all to die, and so he does all he can against the one group who are saved and can lead others to salvation: we, the Christians. Stay strong and let's pray for each other in the face of persecution.

As a Christian I am happy to be hated, because I know I am right then, all I have to do to stop being hated is to always agree and not question inside or out loud with what is considered 'right' now.
Jesus said the world will hate you, because you are mine.
Amen!

Christians are offended when God is taken out of things at school. Non-Christians are left out when God is mentioned in everything. Nobody wins.

Why must we be the ones persecuted, because we are the ones that are trying to spread happiness and goodness throughout the world?

Your happiness isn't necessarily somebody else's idea of happiness. Like, for example, the American colonists sought happiness by building new homes in a new land, but they destroyed the homes (and happiness) of other groups of people who just wanted to keep their homes and culture.

Why do people say that there isn't a God, and that the Earth was created in one large explosion? Why do they not understand?

Different opinions. Personally, I'm fine with whatever somebody else wants to think about how the universe got here. Their beliefs don't affect mine.

Why must generation of genertation of Chirstians stand for this, and somehow keep the Lord's teachings alive? Why?

Well, think about what happened when Christians didn't stand for people's disbelief in Christianity. Tyrannical massacres, inhumane torture, thousands upon thousands dead.... You have to convert people with love, not fear. Fear creates hate. The world doesn't need anymore of that.

Okay, I don't see any particular rules about Non-Christian posts in Christian Persecution, so I'm going to make a response to the OP.

As far as I recall, the word "Lord" is not banned from public schools nor is any personal religious activity you wish to do. However, there cannot be any school organized religious activities outside of neutral ones in a religion class.

So I'm not really seeing your point here.

Do they not understand that the ones who offended are actually Christians who are getting their believes shoved aside? Why must we be the ones persecuted, because we are the ones that are trying to spread happiness and goodness throughout the world?

Just a note; Christians are not the only people trying to bring goodness and happiness throughout the world.

That's a goal of pretty much everyone has, and many people (religious or otherwise) fulfill it.

Why do people say that there isn't a God, and that the Earth was created in one large explosion?

Explosion? No.

Expansion of space-time by quantum mechanics, whose earliest stages remain unknown? Getting there.

Why do they not understand? Why must generation of genertation of Chirstians stand for this, and somehow keep the Lord's teachings alive? Why?

Well, for the same reason that Non-Christians must respect the beliefs of Christians. Its the ethical thing to do...

Persecution is a very old word, I think. The Jewish have always been persecuted. Jesus was persecuted.

I don't think God promised anyone a Garden of Eden. We all have a cross to bear. Whoever said life was easy for anyone?

Let me ask you a question Would you be happy for muslims to pray in schools and spread their message?

In public school, you are free to say "Lord" as much as you want (it's your 1st amendment right).

And of course there are people who say there isn't a god, and that the universe (not the Earth) was created with the big bang. How is this persecution?

I wouldn't call your complaints a form of persecution. Is somebody trying to kill you for your beliefs or make your life miserable? Are you being targeted because you are a Christian? You seem to be forgetting that a vast majority of Americans are Christian. It would be hard to persecute a majority. Compared to the Jews during the Holocaust or African Americans before the Civil Rights Act, you've got it pretty easy. Who is persecuting you?

I see nothing in your post of how Christians are persecuted. Students can say "Lord" all they want in public schools. You say Christian beliefs are shoved aside, but how so? By not being given extra priveledges that are against the Amendments? Christians are given the same rights as everyone else, or at least here in the US.
You also seem to think that someone not believing in the same things that you do is a form of persecution. It's not, obviously.

And oddly enough, people in this thread seem to think that just because most non-Christians don't want Christian beliefs being given special attention that those people hate Christians and Christianity. I know very, very few people who hate Christianity but plenty who hate violations of the Amendments.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

To the OP:

I hope that you will understand in time why people act the way they do towards Christians. They do it because they don't have the power and the will to lead the life of a Christian.

Find strength in the fact that even when in school they take your right to freely express your faith they never will be able to take your faith away from you.

For awhile I put a bible on my desk in school and to this day years later people still remember that. No preaching, no screaming, and no witnessing. Just a Bible on my desk and there is nothing anyone could do about it.

When you can't be bold and loud in your faith be quiet and subtle, because sometimes being quite is the loudest form of praise.
