Why do you believe totally unfounded, ridiculous disinformation? Why do they believe in a 2,000 year old contradictory book full of atrocities and hyperbole?
Isn't it a bit arrogant to say all the people, scientists, statemen and founding fathers of our country, are all stupid and only you at 17 know what is true?? It's okay, I was the same at your age, but if you ever really study or have an encounter with God and His Spirit of truth, I hope you will respond positivly towards what is true and NEVER accept lies. The Bible says to prove all things, yet you assume it full of the evil that men commit while trying to usurp the power of God and His words of truth. ANYTHING can be corrupted by man just so that men can wield power over each other. It is Jesus who said He came to set men free of the sin nature and death by giving us the truth.
When so much of the said book has been proven (both by common sense and science) to be just nonsense. A book that "borrows" ideas (i.e. resurrection) from just other legends from the middle east region aroud that time. A book that requiers you take Noah's ark literally . . . to kill those who even suggest as to worshipping another God.
Even though there is no evidence that proves God exists whatsoever . . . you believe it, and yet what makes you think that it's the right religion set down by God?
Check out the internet, pal, Noah's Ark is real, and archeology and science have been proving the Bible correct for the last 100 years of man's so-called big knowledge. Just look at creation. Stand in the middle of the awesome intelligent design and deny a Creator.
It is only recently that we could say what the Bible says, "All things we see are made of the unseen", and indeed our reality is made up of more of the unseen than the seen. Of course it doesn't count when the Bible speaks of the "circle of the earth" over 2500 years ago.
With all the pain and suffering religion has caused, why do you keep it going?
Religion can = men making God, but that does not mean that God has not revealed the truth and has no power to do so. Why be so narrow as to think a Creator of such ellegant and intelligent design would be so stupid?? Ignorance and arrogance on our part. We are dead spiritually even though the spiritual realm is just another of the dimensions we do not yet see. M-Theory and String theory of mathematics tells us that there is 10 dimensions that our universe is made up of. Why do we only see three and then need a clock for the fourth? Because we are blind and near dead to the others.
ALL suffering falls upon yours and my shoulders mankinds. What have you or I done today to relieve those refuges in Darfur? Why do we have ease and comfort while our neighbor goes starving to death overnight. Why don't you do as Jesus said or asked, "Did you feed me when I was hungry", "Did you clothe me when I was naked", "Did you give me shelter even when I was a stranger"? "Did you vist and give me fellowship and friendship when I was sick?" SO WHAT is the evil in that message Jesus gave us as our job to look after in this life we are responsible for? He has made us our brothers keeper yet we would rather party and have a good time without the bother of looking after our neighbors and then turn about and falsely accuse God of our own neglect and blind eye to suffering in the world..
Ya know, God's laws are only two now with the New Covenant - Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, which is only fitting, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself, and that is the basic love we all give in nurturing and feeding our bodies to care for them - not a self-esteem issue.. I'm sure someone starving would rather feed their body long before their ego. [/quote]
We know the Earth is a hell of a lot older than it states in the Bible . . . why believe the Bible?
Time is relative to many things or have you not yet heard of Einstein and his theory of relativity who was a believer in God? Time can be anything from none to any number depending upon relativity... Get our your measuring stick and study some math....The mass of the universe before the big bang traveling at the speed of light means at any relative point, creation could have happened in six days in one place and twenty billion the next. There are lots of good books supporting this theory out there and they are not all Christian. If you don't look unbiased and only seek the negative, that is all you will find and never have a chance to make an unprejudiced decision about truth.
You could say you have a "personal relationship" with Jesus Christ . . . but anyone with just a passive knowledge of psychology would know the way in which the mind may be simmulated.
If it wern't because of Hell, religion would be gone . . . is that why you believe? Because of Hell?!
Why??
People who truly seek the truth will finally know that men have wicked hearts that are hungry only for power, and they don't mind using God's name to get that power. If they can motivate by fear, the very opposite of faith, then they will use that to get you to do what they want - like get your money, but that does not mean that God has no power to communicate effectivly, which He has, to those who will seek Him and truth with all their hearts. If we were really so smart about life, we would be able to make at least one cell of life live, yet we are arrogant and narrow out the possibility of an intelligent designer to all the great intelligence we see even inside one of those so-called simple single celled organisms.
Calling God evil because the hearts of men constantly dream up ways to merchandise and rip each other off for power and selfish ambition just smacks of the larger hipocrisy that dwells within the hearts of men.
Is hell your excuse not to believe? I doubt that. It is just another misunderstanding that people like to use to get what they want. I see that you do not understand even what the Biblical word hell stands for because hell was a holding place that exists outside of time, but you can study that if your interested at a different time or remain ignorant of its true meaning. The Greek words and the English often did not always match up well in translation, so it was left to the translator to interpret, but even if there was a real place of eternal punishment like a lake of fire, have I not heard men say that this person did not deserve to escape punishment so easily by death? What is truly just if you are tortured for years by another? Are you really a better judge of life and death than the Creator Himself? I don't think any man can judge over what he has no power over, but because of our blind ignorance and arrogance, not knowing much of aything about life and death, we think we can speak out against the very light that reflects off of all that He is. He is merciful and just to forgive us, and if we humble ourselves and ask, He will show us all things eventually. Someday, we are promised to be His family and know as we are known. It couldn't get better than that, IMO.
