Erm just a few things first . . .

I must have missed that part. Would you mind telling me where the Bible tells us to kill anyone?
Deuteronomy 13:7-11, “if your son or daughter” or “your most intimate friend” even so much as suggests worshipping other Gods, “You must kill him, your hand must strike the first blow in putting him to death. You must stone him.”

Isn't it a bit arrogant to say all the people, scientists, statemen and founding fathers of our country, are all stupid and only you at 17 know what is true?? It's okay, I was the same at your age, but if you ever really study or have an encounter with God and His Spirit of truth, I hope you will respond positivly towards what is true and NEVER accept lies. The Bible says to prove all things, yet you assume it full of the evil that men commit while trying to usurp the power of God and His words of truth. ANYTHING can be corrupted by man just so that men can wield power over each other. It is Jesus who said He came to set men free of the sin nature and death by giving us the truth.
Well to start with the founding members of your naion were secular, with secular policy. My post was not an arrogant one, there is no evidence that God exists so I don't see why I should pull any punches while religion is responsible for so much misery. Now the reason that I think that what I believe in is true is because of common sense, like I come to the conclusion that 2+2=4.

Check out the internet, pal, Noah's Ark is real, and archeology and science have been proving the Bible correct for the last 100 years of man's so-called big knowledge. Just look at creation. Stand in the middle of the awesome intelligent design and deny a Creator.
It is only recently that we could say what the Bible says, "All things we see are made of the unseen", and indeed our reality is made up of more of the unseen than the seen. Of course it doesn't count when the Bible speaks of the "circle of the earth" over 2500 years ago.
The original books from the Bible were written by a semitic tribe thousands of years ago . . . to me it's just one of many ideas from that time of people trying to make sense of the world.

Einstein and his theory of relativity who was a believer in God?
You are mistaken. Einstein said:
Quote:
It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.
And:
Quote:
I am a deeply religious nonbeliever. This is a somewhat new kind of believer.

What have you or I done today to relieve those refuges in Darfur? Why do we have ease and comfort while our neighbor goes starving to death overnight. Why don't you do as Jesus said or asked, "Did you feed me when I was hungry", "Did you clothe me when I was naked", "Did you give me shelter even when I was a stranger"? "Did you vist and give me fellowship and friendship when I was sick?" SO WHAT is the evil in that message Jesus gave us as our job to look after in this life we are responsible for? He has made us our brothers keeper yet we would rather party and have a good time without the bother of looking after our neighbors and then turn about and falsely accuse God of our own neglect and blind eye to suffering in the world..
Ya know, God's laws are only two now with the New Covenant - Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, which is only fitting, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself, and that is the basic love we all give in nurturing and feeding our bodies to care for them - not a self-esteem issue.. I'm sure someone starving would rather feed their body long before their ego.
I'm all for the love thy neighbour thing. . . but you make it sound like we need religion to make the world better . . . which to me is just nonsense. I think we have a limited time on earth and we should make the most of it, however this does not require religion.
More later . . .[/QUOTE]
i read most of that, the first quote you made about deutronomy is easily answered. And the rest well, ive honestly never heard so much nonsense in my life
