• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

why are non christians allowed to post on this site?
Well, you would have to ask the site owners, but I am assuming that non christians are allowed to post on this site for basically the same reasons Christians are allowed to post on this site.

Your question seems to imply that you think non christians should not be allowed to post on this site. Maybe you tell us why you think so. It might be the easier way to get to the point.

why?
why are non christians allowed to post on this site?

I could be wrong, its happened more than once in my life but just reading how the OP is phrased - I dont think its a question as more that its a vent.

If it was a question, then it would have been in the Staff/CF Support section for the Mods and Erwin to answer.

this kinda reminds me of that old story of the christian that had been in this one church for years and really felt that the church for "us christians", and them sinners shouldnt be allowed in.....

well, this is more than a story actually - this really happened. :sigh:

I visited this one church right after I got out of alcohol rehab in the military - after the service, when I told the asst pastor I was a non christian recovering alcoholic stationed on a nearby base, I was told right then and there that "there was OTHER churches for my kind....." this was in Feb, 2000, central coast, CA

cant you just feel the love???? said all that to say this about the OP: when you ask a point blank questi like that here for everyone to obviously read, well, really makes one feel wanted, dont it?

dont answer - its a rhetorical question.

Well it's obvious to me. Fairness of free speech, or the genuine desire to hear diverse opinions doesn't seem to be the reason we non-christians are allowed to post. At least, from my view, that's how it looks.

I feel the supreme reason(s) non-christians are "allowed" to post on this site is:

1.) It brings non-Christians in contact with Christians making an environment where conversions and indoctrinations are possible. Thus "spreading" the word and grace of "God" as so many like to term it.

2.) It gives the "preachy" type of Christian a forum to preach and rant.

3.) It allows for a fellowship of Christain participants to "band" together against a specific issued or "examples of sin" raised in discussion with/by non-believers. Thus seeming to strenthen the "faith".

Honestly. That's why I think I'm allowed on here.

Sure i know there are some very good and fair minded Christian posters that participate and want to hear from all people of all walks of life. But, I don't think that is the Forum's reason for allowing non-christians to post. Otherwise, there would not be a "Christian-only" section. Sheesh, talk about a plain, small scale, example of a religion seeking ultimate domination. Oh well...

Maybe a better question is: why do non-Christians come to a Christian Forum site?

If this is a Christian site than non christians should not be allowed on here IMO

You're perfectly welcome to start your own site and run it as you like. The management here, in the infinite wisdom available to them, sees fit to let us participate.

Hello floradora, welcome to CF... and happy birthday. :)

From the FAQ area:

The objectives of Christian Forums have not changed since it's inception. They remain:

(1) to provide a safe haven online for Christians;

(2) to bring together Christians of all denominations; and

(3) to establish a Christian presence on the Web so that non-Christians may be outreached to.

Christian Forums has seen many people come to know the Lord through its ministry. We thank you for visiting us and hope you enjoy being part of the largest Christian community online.

Please note that I highlighted #3 in red.

Now, I'm going to close this thread down due to it being Off Topic to E & M.

Please feel free to PM me or any staff if you have any further questions.
