• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'll take a stab at this, although you obviously don't want my opinion...

You live in a world which is not universally Christian. As such, the practice of Christianity necessarily involves interactions with non-Christians. And so, while portions of these forums are reserved for Christian-only discussion, there are also boards which make explicit those interactions.

Don't reckon that's an E&M issue, though.

Because this portion of the site is for interaction between Christians and non-Christians. That seems pretty self-explanatory.

If you don't like talking to non-Christians, over half the site is restricted to Christians only.

We're the funner half though :)

Here's another thought (I hold to a number of those listed above):
Maybe we can learn better here how to deal with those we encounter irl?

Also, non-Christians can help us truly sort out our priorities and thoughts on any particular subject, as they ask tough questions and don't make Christian-based assumptions.

Agreed - I would add another that pertains to secular countries (the US is a secular country BTW). Having constant interaction with others who do not share our faith reminds us that our governments and societies are built for them as much as us. We need to treat all people equal in free societies even if we do not share the same views. I find myself at odds more with my fellow Christians in these forums at times because we, in our arrogance, lose sight of this truth.

This is absolutely true. We have a tendency to see ourselves as the moral arbiters of the world. In free societies (in truth, anywhere) we don't have that role.

We are not to be someone else's Holy Spirit, but we are to love others and allow the Spirit to work with them where they are.

why are non christians allowed to post on this site?
Well it's obvious to me. Fairness of free speech, or the genuine desire to hear diverse opinions doesn't seem to be the reason we non-christians are allowed to post. At least, from my view, that's how it looks.

I feel the supreme reason(s) non-christians are "allowed" to post on this site is:

1.) It brings non-Christians in contact with Christians making an environment where conversions and indoctrinations are possible. Thus "spreading" the word and grace of "God" as so many like to term it.

2.) It gives the "preachy" type of Christian a forum to preach and rant.

3.) It allows for a fellowship of Christain participants to "band" together against a specific issued or "examples of sin" raised in discussion with/by non-believers. Thus seeming to strenthen the "faith".

Honestly. That's why I think I'm allowed on here.

Sure i know there are some very good and fair minded Christian posters that participate and want to hear from all people of all walks of life. But, I don't think that is the Forum's reason for allowing non-christians to post. Otherwise, there would not be a "Christian-only" section. Sheesh, talk about a plain, small scale, example of a religion seeking ultimate domination. Oh well...

You are apparently unaware of the large Christians only section in the forums.

ummmmmm, I did notice the Christian only section.

That Christian only section would not exist if the Christians of this "Christian Forums" really wanted to hear from everyone. That is why I say, many or most Christians here don't want hear from "all people". They want an a chance to convert non-believers. It is a driving force of many, many Christians. Next, is dominating society. I seems to me, for these Forums, a chance of converting a few non-believers is worth dealing with all the non-believers in the "all members" section.
