CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Why would creationists do this?

Why? because this is where all of the laughs are, basic religion is old hat, it's been around for years,
whereas creationism takes a special kind of nut to even begin to believe that ancient weirdness,
for a start, the nut must be empty, or have no more than three brain cells, any more and creationism wouldn't take,
and because of that we are treated to the most ridiculous mental meandering it's possible to get from one brain,
some are truly hilarious, when you first come across it, you find it very hard to believe,
and sometimes it's hard to imagine that they could also walk and chew gum at the same time.
After a while though, you begin to realise it's not really funny, it's in fact very very sad,
and I will admit that a few times I have not laughed, I have just felt sorry for them, after all, they were not given a choice.

surly you are capable of disagreeing with someone without trying to be smart?
Most Atheists try as hard as they can not to laugh or write trite answers when they
get answers like, 'the angels were responsible for that', so why don't you try and make the effort.

Well, when you are as rude and disrespectful to others and you admit to trolling the forum "for a laugh" you surely can't expect to be treated any other way.
Perhaps you feel other atheists should simply accept your appalling behaviour because they share a bond with you, a brother atheist. That just isnt how it works Im afraid. You berate him for not acting like an adult, perhaps you should examine your own behaviour first.
Rather than implicitly moaning about not being shown respect, act like a 68 year old man and earn it.
Dropping the cultural bigotry would be a good start, if you feel up to it. It is hardly becoming. I appreciate that racism is a very hard habit to break, but breaking it will increase the respect you get from people.

You manage it quite well it has to be said.
When you ask people who believe in a God questions like "why would they want to damage their childrens education like this?" and say to them "No Gods are coming to save us, we are ALL doomed to die and be forgotten, how sad is that?" you're lucky that you get a response at all. As other people have said on here, you can disagree with people and still be civil.
