Genesis 2:7
the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Genesis 2:19
Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.

from the scripture above, we know that the man was made from the dust but the beasts was made from ground. why use different material?

It is the same material, you just have a little more detail in the creation of man, 'the dust of the ground' rather than simply 'the ground'.

I'm more curious to know why God is described as having made some animals out of water and some out of dirt. Does this imply that all aquatic creatures should be genetically more similar relative to terrestrial ones?

You will accuse me to interpret the Bible literally, but I think it is pretty metaphoric :

The ground or the dust (include dust in water), they contain metal ions. The water, none (H does not count). That is why.

Genesis 1:20 "teemed" equals formed?

KJV says 'bring forth abundantly' but the root word isn't giving me much confidence in interpreting it as 'formed from'

and in the same sentence birds are mentioned and they are not formed from water, see the later mention in Gen 2:19

If it does mean fish are formed from water, seems strange that its not mentioned what birds are formed from in the same sentence as a distinction.

If it does not mean fish were formed from water, seems strange we are not told elsewhere then.

Material is synonymous with Substance, and is anything made of matter - hydrogen, air and water are all examples of materials. Sometimes the term Material is used more narrowly to refer to substances or components with certain physical properties which are used as inputs to production or manufacturing. In this sense, materials are the pieces required to make something else, from buildings and art to stars and computers.

A material can be anything: a finished product in its own right or an unprocessed raw material. Raw materials are first extracted or harvested from the earth and divided into a form that can be easily transported and stored, then processed to produce semi-finished materials. These can be input into a new cycle of production and finishing processes to create finished materials, ready for distribution, construction, and consumption.

An example of a raw material is cotton, which is harvested from plants, and can then be processed into thread (also considered a raw material), which can then be woven into cloth, a semi-finished material. Cutting and sewing the fabric turns it into a garment, which is a finished material. Steelmaking is another example—raw materials in the form of ore are mined, refined and processed into steel, a semi-finished material. Steel is then used as an input in many other industries to make finished products.

Some one argued that if we were made of clay, which is a silicate, then why are we mostly made of C, N, and H? (oxygen is not a problem).

My response is: Name one element in us, but is not found in clay.
The fact is: If we were not made of clay, then the above question will not stand.

(note: clays are capable to contain all existed elements in their molecular structure like potpourris)
