WHY THE LORD'S DAY IS NOT SATURDAY

I think it is interesting that St. Paul shows the limitations of the law in Romans 7. We still must live by the moral commandments of the law ( Matthew 19:16-19, Romans 13:8-10 etc.) & our lives unfold as we were created in 7 days. Still, the original sabbath keeping is only unto our physical death. In Orthodoxy the sabbath is actually remembered with Saturday vespers and spiritually fulfilled on the day of resurrection ( Sunday).

Mind you, I do not assume my individual salvation over that of a sabbath keeper ( or that a sabbath keeper is not Christian). I believe Sunday is the day of resurrection & that is the day of worship of the risen Lord.

None. They were both God's doing and are both great. The one representing God as the creator of heaven and earth and the other God having power over death and the grave. Now, you do not have any scripture to support your traditions now do you?

Well I do not view sharing Gods Word as a spitting match. Of course you are free to believe as you wish. You do not have to answer my question to you if you do not want to. I think your response to my question has already provided an answer so we can agree to disagree.

We've had this debate multiple times. There's literally nothing more I could say that I haven't said before many times. Nothing will convince you to the contrary of what you already now believe. To do that you would need to open yourself up to the possibility that you have been taught incorrectly, and need an open mind to hear the Scriptures afresh and pure.

In my younger days I went through a Messianic phase where I pretty much regarded the whole of mainstream Christianity rotten and false. I rejected worship on Sunday, I rejected Christian holy days as "pagan", insisted on observing Jewish ones instead. Indeed, even though I'm very obviously and clearly a Gentile by every metric, in my confusion I called myself Jewish and even accused actual Jews of not being real Jews. So it's not like I don't know what it's like to have my ears tickled. Around the same time I also rejected the Trinity and tried to argue and defend the "Oneness" doctrine.

I was young and confused, I lacked the maturity and guidance necessary to point me in the right direction. Fortunately that did happen, and I began to dig deeper--studying history, studying theology, and most importantly studying the Scriptures themselves. I began asking really big questions, such as "What did the early Church believe? What is the teaching of the apostles, and where can I find it today?" Without that study of history and theology and Scripture, I wouldn't have been able to see the depth and breadth of God's ongoing story of faith in the Christian Church. And that ultimately led me to basically trip and fall over into Lutheranism.

I became a Lutheran quite by accident. Or Divine Providence, depending on how one might wish to look at it.

I love to talk about Him
I love to be with Him
I love to be with others that feel the same way

I really, really, really like naps
and good movies
and hanging out with my family
and just general relaxation

I don't care which day I do any of these things, as long as I get to do them.

God said His Sabbath is a sign between Him and His people and it is a perpetual covenant

Exodus 31:13 Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the Lord who sanctifies you.

Ezekiel 20: 20 hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’

I want to know the Lord our God and I want to be Gods people. God told us which day is the only Holy day in the Bible and it is His seventh day Sabbath. He not only spoke these Words He wrote them, that’s how important it was to God. The only scripture that is written by God and He asked us to Remember His seventh day Sabbath, which means we should not forget.

Exodus 20 8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In ityou shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who iswithin your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

If you read this easy to read commandment, He also told us days one-six are working days, not the Lords day. He said the seventh day is the Lord of your God which means its the real Lords day. God bless

It's kind of like the 12 days of Christmas song, it implies every day can be like Christmas if we want it to be, the Lord's day is like that.

That's not what the song means. It's literally referring to the twelve days of Christmas, the liturgical Season of Christmas or Christmastide, which lasts from December 25th (the Feast of the Holy Nativity or Christmas Day) until January 5th.

We do things backward in the modern world. The Christmas season begins on December 25th, rather than ending on it. The period prior to Christmas, that we wrongly call the Christmas season, is actually the season of Advent. In fact a number of "Christmas songs" aren't Christmas songs at all, they are Advent songs. Such as Come O Come Emmanuel, which is based on the ancient O Antiphons, a series of Advent prayers.

We should be glad God created the earth in six days, but He separated the seventh day as THE Holy day from Creation. Genesis 2:3

Of course scripture came from the Jews (except maybe the part that Luke wrote, but that is debated).

The specific Covenant that you are quoting (Exodus and Deuteronomy) was between God and the dependents of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I am not a descendent of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob ... so that covenant was not made with my fathers nor with me. I have no promise of land in the Middle East, I have no prohibition on shaving.

Jesus came to institute a better Covenant based on better promises. A covenant available to Jews and Gentiles alike. I am saved by the grace of God into the New Covenant.

This is not rocket science. You should know whether you are a descendent of Jacob/Israel or not. You should know if your ancestors were led out of Egypt and into the promised land or not. You should know if you trust in the Law of Moses and your birthright, or if you trust in the Blood of Christ and grace of God ... for your Salvation.
