Why teach creationism in public school science classes?

That isn't even talking about Adam (notice the plural "let them"); how do you infer that he was created in a fully developed state from that verse?

So prove to me that evolution made everythings. Explain it to me from the beginning, and proove it.

That's not necessarily evidence of God. Even *if* a natural explanation for the healing were not found you could claim any sort of supernatural entity or force were responsible for it

You cannot prove a scientific theory, only disprove one. Evolution has not been proven nor disproven.

If you can really do that, why aren't you out curing people of cancer, then?

That is far beyond the scope of this forum. If you really want to learn, you've got a lot of reading to do. I'd start with the talk.origins FAQ pages on evolution, as there is a load of material there. After that, hit your local library. There's a good list of books over at IIDB on the subject.

Well its not life or death lesson, but I assume it to be true.
Because He made Eve, and she wasn't no baby, because Adam was real excited about seeing her.

However, to recap:

No evidence has been presented to back up any creation "theory". So, therefore, it shouldn't be taught in public school science classes. Since, you know, it isn't science.

Well, Adam could have been chillin' in the garden for ~20 years till God decided he needed a partner. Remember, Adam had to of had some time to have felt alone (The reason Eve was created; Genesis 2:18).

In the end it doesn't really matter, given the story's non-literal nature

Yes the circle is complete. So now we have one theory being taught in schools, but not the other. But when it comes down to it, you simply don't know where everything came from.

sunstone, can you please Post an new thread showing some of your Evidence for creationism and your evidence against evolution?

If you are willing to learn, you may actually learn something. If not, then i guess you will go around writting false information. Now, thats not the best thing to do, is it?

Its only not science if it has not true. The fact is you don't know, either way. Same with evolution explaining where we came from.

Okay, creationism is the issue here, not creation. Creationism deals with the specific how of creation. For example, young-Earth creationism states that the everything was created 6000-12000 years old (depending on who you ask), a global flood occured about 4500 years ago wiping out most life on Earth, etc.

This is testable and has been demonstrated to be false (some 200 years ago, no less). However, this does not disprove God. Only how some people think God created.

In comparison, the current accepted ideas of a 4.5 billion year Earth, Theory of Evolution, etc, have arisen based on observations of the physical evidence in the world. They have yet to be shown to be false, which is why they are taught in schools. However, they speak neither of existence nor nonexistence of God.

I can come up with a whole load of things that hasn't been disproven. Disprove there aren't UFOs, vampires, or werewolves.

However, again, you need evidence to support claims. There is no evidence to support the YEC version of creation. There's plenty of evidence to support evolution. It is real and it is verifible and anyone can test it.

Lastly, evolution didn't "make" everything. Once again, evolution only explains the diversity of life on Earth. NOT where it came from. It could've came from a god, or aliens, or the Matrix, or whatever. This has been said so many times, this is the reason I firmly believe you guys have zero desire to actually learn.

It's really a shame. The universe is a fascinating place filled with wonders waiting to be explored and understood. It's sad that people like yourself keep your mind in a bottle.

I am not qualified to do a thread like that. I don't have any information on paper. Most of it was just picked up here and there from reading about it.

I don't spend alot of time studing that part of science. I would prefer to keep on track with my bible studies, since that has changed my life in a drastic way. In other words, I prefer to study the truth.

But I would really appreciate it if you started a thread on evolution, all its theorys, wether right or wrong, or crazy.And all the evidence to go along with it. This way I will know for sure.

It is starting to seem like sun is refusing to listen to what evolution trully is, and instead is happy with his false version.
Personally I never like giving false information, but thats just me.

I have a YEC friend at work. They honestly do NOT want to know. It's just like the proverbial child with fingers in ears screaming "Lalalala!"

They so desperately need to believe in something that they are convinced their distorted view of reality is "the truth." After two years, I've never been able to break through and change his mind. It's especially sad because he has two young children and it pains me to know they are being taught lies.
