Something fun to note:

Philosophy means love of wisdom.

Platonists equated wisdom as god himself (or gods themselves), and they believed that in their practice they would glorify pagan godhead through pursuit of knowledge and understanding of the creation. To Platonists, philosophy was tantamount to love of God. It was a religion unto itself.

I am not sure why I put this here but someone said "do you think philosophy as a Christians only endeavor?"

I just wanted to invite the notion that philosophy in many interpretations is a love of God though I believe philosophy is simply a home for everyone who wants to think deeply about truth itself.

Before I get attacked: I love philosophy because I love God and Truth and I recognize the validity of atheists in philosophy and their own love of truth.

This was just a tidbit that fascinated me about platonists.

Salutations as i am new to this forum especially this section i don't know the kind of posters that usually inhabit the section so i am surprised to see that quite a few of you are atheists or agnostics.Surely you cant claim to speak for Christianity or from an orthodox or literal view point if you are not even Christian to begin with, really is quite pathetic.

Honestly I ve seen more orthodox Christians in some of the conspiracy forums i visit. I think mods around here should lift their game big time. I am sure other sections of this forum that are just as bad also.

And if you think i sound too narrow minded or fundie well thats just too bad as there are far worse or should i say more conservative Christians than me.However many of you guys don't even meet the most basic criteria of Christian do you even read or own a Bible gees pathetic.

Are you asking a question, or just promoting Christian values by way of attacking and insulting those who differ in their beliefs from you?

In regards to "Surely you cant claim to speak for Christianity or from an orthodox or literal view point if you are not even Christian to begin with" - I am not pretending to be a Christian or trying to speak for Christians. You guys do that well enough for yourselves. However, I am sufficiently informed in Christianity to give what would often be a Christian response to a question that asks for it. My education was primarily within the Christian private school system, and I was required to attend church with my family until age seventeen, so I am not Biblically illiterate or confused about what Christians believe.

With your statements about not owning a Bible, who are you referring to? I own four.
