• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why so few?

why are people still not here posting? because CF missed the tide.

last year there was a swelling of feeling that the post charasmatics needed a forum (or at least a sub forum) so they could safely discuss. the idea was floated not once but TWICE in the 'new forums' space here on CF, and was supported by many.
But instead of responding to the need, CF dropped the ball and did nothing. so those people left and formed their own forum.

the need was seen for both a prophetic and Dreams forum originally to be located here as sub forums. they were instead awarded to the Ministry team to supervise. less than a year later the Ministry team ran the prophetic forum into the ground and then closed it, so those people left both the prophetic forum and this forum, and formed two forums.

some Spirit-filled people objected to what whas happening with the moderation on this forum, so they left and formed their own forum, now 100+ strong.

WOF was getting bashed repeatedly in the main forum and made to feel unwelcome there, so they also left and formed a forum.

the historical protestants (Calvinists) on the right were being bashed by the CF policies, so they left and formed a forum, as did the liberal Christians on the left for the same reason--bashing by CF policies.
Result? three more forums and a huge loss of staff to boot.

bottom line here is give people a safe space.
Let them talk, listen when they speak, and support truth. And when space becomes cramped expand the space--don't tell people to like it or lump it and then complain when they take you up on your offer to speed their departure.

You know all of this is very, very sad - a very vibal tool has been destroyed, which has pleased the enemy very much.

We are all adults here, what does it matter who posts as long as they can keep it civil and stop calling people names - there were really only a few people that have destroyed this forum - I think using the ignore button would be much simpler than splitting up all the different forums.

How can we help anyone if we continue to call them names just because they don't believe like we do.

I think we put too much pressure on the moderators - its like a bunch of kids saying I'll pick up my marbles and go home if you don't play my way. Why should the moderators interfer in a conversation to make it be civil - again we are all adults - why can't we pull ourselves into line here and act like adults.

So we believe different - if the rock we believe on is Jesus - how can we be so different. What is there to discuss if we all have the same thoughts. I like hearing different sides to the conversations.

I have used the ignore button on 3 people that I do not read their posts and if we all did that - we could still continue on with some civil conversations and stop bashing the moderators - they donate their time and do the best they can - but when you have people bound and determined to cause trouble and there are a lot of them on here that just like to see trouble, you will have arguements in the conversations. You cannot do away with all that and you will not change people by making a bunch of different forums - it was much more interesting when there were a lot of different views.

Look at it now - there are only 5 or 6 new postings - the ones that could have made a difference here are gone - who has won here except the enemy.

People - can't we all come back together and start some senseable postings and stop blaming the moderators - we are the ones letting it be destroyed because we are not posting good learning conversations that we can all be part of.

Come on back - post - lets discuss - we can put the ones that are out to destroy in their place by calling it like it is and tell them their little game is not working any more.

Has anyone observed that whilst numbers in CF as a whole are steadily climbing, the numbers here in SF are steadily dropping?

Earlier this year it was common to see anything between 900-1600 people online. Now it's 2200-2400. In the same time frame, number in this forum has dropped from around 80 down to just 54 as I write.

Now I wonder why on earth that could be!!

Why? Probably because of the way we duke it out here on the SFPC forum.

But I think that is the way it is with P/C Christians—we are more passionate about what we believe than most others. In fact, we are more passionate (emotional) about just about everything. That may not necessarily be a bad thing. What is bad is when our emotions cause us to lose our good judgment and manners.

For me I am gone a lot right now to about Oct as at campground and also out a lot in woods. But have you looked lately at all the questions about healing, the goodness of God, questioning very basic things? I have reached a point where I just dont answer a lot any more and let people believe what they want to. If the Holy Spirit cant teach them thyen I cant either. I am tired of all the falseness on this board. Personally I can see why there is no power in a lot of peoples lives and why so many are led astray by churchs in this day and age. It is like anything goes and we are powerless to do anything, we have no responsibility for anything it is as God wills in every area of our life. Prophecy is not a gift but something everyone can and should do and it must always feel good. Sorry but this is not the same bible I read. Sorry for the rant but this is just plain discouraging to see all the time.:sigh:

Agree here....somehow it seems everyone's own ideas/thoughts/views (incl. mine) are right and the rest of the views (no matter what) just need to be corrected.
Pride perhaps or maybe just some people have a need to talk more than listen? hmmm..
Kindness and gentleness....we could use some of that here :)

We complain of the contention and strife, yet when we complain we are casting stones in all directions in our complaints !!
Its sad and discouraging and depressing. Its no wonder why John the Baptist stayed in the woods.

I have also noticed there are usually more guest than members in this forum. If I were a guest and saw the heated arguments that erupt from time to time, I might also think twice about subscribing.

The reason I don't post here as much as I used to is because. I am fed up with the fighting. I am fed up with getting attacked evertime I speak what I believe. I am fed up with the rules that protect some but not all.

In a nutshell this place has changed for the worse since I came here 2 years ago.

Poor WOF’les. It’s not like they did not do their share of bashing. There’s enough guilt to go around several times in this forum. If you show me your bruises, I’ll show you mine.

But you are right. We all want our own sub-forums. I prefer this general SFPC one, myself.

All any of us can do is be a positive force. We can’t change what others do. As for me, I have purposed in my heart to love people. It’s the Lord ’s Table, not mine.

I enjoy debate. I like to be challenged to think, to defend what I believe. It is good to understand what others believe and why they believe it, but I don’t want to fight about it!

Paul said, “We see through a glass dimly”

None of us have a clean mirror. The perfect things of God we see are perceived as they are reflected off our tarnished hearts.

I love and respect everyone on CF. I just don’t agree with them all (so what?) I always think I’m right (even when I’m wrong) How will I know if you don’t help me? How will you know when you are wrong?

Who am I other than a fellow servant?

The Lord suffers with my weakness and my ignorance, should I not do the same as Him?

oh amen and amen.

I could have typed those words myself.

It's so important to bear with one another. Consider it seeds being sown, Lord knows I need people to bear with me!! :D (I think I just heard my husband say, amen to that) :D

I have gotten fed up with the "You arent penticostal/spirit filled therefore you cant post here" inference

It does grate ever so slightly after the first 100 or so times.

This is exactly my feelings. I shared that I am Charismatic and added my name to the list etc to qualify that I am allowed to post here. However, I was told that I needed to read the description of Charismatic that CF posts and to either 'get with the program' or scoot by a couple of strong personalities. Well, after such a warm experience in the 'Spirit' filled forum, I chose to scoot.

It seems as though there is a whole lot more flaming etc that one is allowed here than in other sub forums. Don't know why
