  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Honor, I saw this article and just had to post it......:clap:

"...There used to be an organization for people who believed in a truly limited government — limited taxes, limited spending, limited interference in individual lives and limited intervention in foreign affairs. That organization was known as the Republican Party. But the only one of those beliefs that still motivates the G.O.P. establishment is limited taxes. In 2008, people who still hold all of them joined the Ron Paul Revolution.

....In some ways, Paul is a throwback to the frugal and isolationist wing of the old Republican Party, the fuddy-duddy GOP of Robert Taft and Calvin Coolidge. His fiscal policies evoke the idealistic Republican revolutionaries who seized control of Congress in 1994; he wants to abolish the IRS, the Departments of Homeland Security, Education and Energy, and most of the federal government. He refuses to vote for unbalanced budgets, and he has opposed spending taxpayer dollars on Congressional Medals of Honor, even for Rosa Parks or Pope John Paul II....."

Ron Paul is the only one who is not a CFR member.

Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Chris Dodd, Bill Richardson, Mitt Romney,Rudy Giuliani,John McCain...candidates from both side of the camp are all CFR members.

Ok, lets see if I can figure CFR, it must be..... Council on Foreign Relations

"...The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is an independent, and nonpartisan foreign policy membership organization founded in 1921 and based at 58 East 68th Street (corner Park Avenue) in New York City, with an additional office in Washington, D.C. Through its membership, meetings, and studies, it has been called the most powerful agent of United States foreign policy outside the State Department...."

Hi Red--and thanks for posting this! It is a very brief synopsis as to why I LOVE Ron Paul and why he is the ONLY reasonable candidate that we have running. The rest of those yahoo's are not only useless, but VERY dangerous.

People would be amazed at the massive following Paul actually has. It's also remarkable how those involved with this REVOLUTION have become something of a brotherhood.

I have a huge Ron Paul sign in front of my office ( see below--lol). We've actually had people stop into the office just to say "Hey", just because of the sign. One lady was lost and said she chose our place to stop at for directions because anyone backing Ron Paul, "had to be good people"!! lol

Red, if people would actually THINK about those they are going to vote for, then they logically would HAVE to vote for Ron. The other three are nothing more than what we have had for the past twenty some years---puppets of the corporate giants. This is why those media mongrels were able to keep his name from the public. Yes--they ARE afraid of him. They are afraid of his message because if it actually caught on--those evil doers would be ruined.

The thing is that being idealistic only gets you so far, you have to eventually see things at a more realistic level to be able to deal with them and opposing U.S. involvement in the United Nations and NATO is a bit too isolationist for most Americans. Turning your back on problems doesnt make them go away, and usually they get worse. If we had let Saddam Hussein stay in power, we would be waiting for the next Obama, I mean Osama attack, well financed by Husseins oil revenue which we were paying for. Kind of ironic, paying those who would wanted to attack us or finance a attack against us........

Something to think about...

A little over one year ago:
*1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $219 a gallon;
*3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we've seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) the cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Well Red--paying those to attack us has been the status quo in this country for decades. This is one of the things Ron Paul wants to stop. Can you say Chavez?

http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=2005531

And red--the only ones ignoring AND causing our problems are the ones in power NOW! This is why we are in this mess to begin with. It will take men like Ron Paul to salvage this country, if it can be salvaged at all.

PS--Idealism is what made this country such a blessing to the world at one time.

Well, idealism (think Thomas Jefferson) is the driving force, but realism (think George Washington and Valley Forge) is what gets it done.....

Ah--but the thought MUST come first! Without the idea--there would be no action. Right?

Correct, but if Thomas Jefferson were in office today, he would have been attacked by the media, pummelled by the critics, and impeached by the other politicians for his ideas.........

CFR is called by some the "shadow government". It is the American branch of European polito organization Council on Foreign Affairs.

It was established as a front organization for the Illuminati groups financed by the Rosthchilds financial and banking empire.

Well Red-Jefferson, like Ron Paul was an anti-federalist. He distrusted, and rightly so, a powerful central government. So yeah-anyone with that mindset is going to feel the wrath of the big brother power elitists who control the media.
