  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Something to think about...

A little over one year ago:
*1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $219 a gallon;
*3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we've seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) the cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!
Honor,

While I agree with you on your points - just a note that 5% unemployment is considered by most economists to be full employment.

Well who are we going to vote for, we got someone with ethic issues who cant tell the truth, we got a grandfather who cant give one rousing speech to save his life, and we got damaged goods because of the race issue that has been force on him, so are we all going to choose Ron Paul only because the media doesnt bother to go after him.....we need a better reason than that.....

I think people say some of this stuff to see how many will believe it and spread it as the gospel truth..... conspiracy theories you gotta love them......^_^

Benjamin Disraeli, former prime minister of England: ‘the world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes.’

Felix Frankfurter, US Supreme Court justice: ‘The real rulers in Washington are invisible and exercise power from behind the scenes.’

John F. Hylan, Mayor of New York 1918-1925, said ‘the real menace of our Republic is the invisible government which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities, states and nations.

Franklin Roosevelt, in a written November 21, 1933 to Colonel Edward House: ‘The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the large centers has owned the government of the US since the days of Andrew Jackson.’

Winston Churchill to the London Press in 1922: ‘From the days of Spartacus, Weishopf, Karl Marx, Trotsky, Bela Kun, Rosa Luxenburg, and Emma Goldman, this world conspiracy has been steadily growing. This conspiracy played a definite recognizable role in the tragedy of the French Revolution. It has been the mainstream of every subversive movement during the 19th century. And now at last this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their head and have become the undisputed masters of that enormous empire.’

"The individual coming face to face with such conspiracy cannot believe that it exists.” ---J Edgar Hoover.

"Men have confederated to oppose the Lord of hosts. These confederacies will continue until Christ shall leave His place of intercession before the mercy-seat, and shall put on the garments of vengeance. Satanic agencies are in every city, busily organizing into parties those opposed to the law of God. Professed saints and avowed unbelievers take their stand with these parties. This is no time for the people of God to be weaklings. We cannot afford to be off our guard for a moment. --- Country Living, p10.

“Those who can't see signs of times are candidates for plagues---God calls for men and means. Those who cannot see the signs of the times in this wicked and adulterous generation will be found with those who perish under the plagues poured from vials of God's wrath.” ---12 MR, p42

There are always those who seek unity and form groups or societies just so they can run things, usually the rich elite and others hungry for power and influence, and Ron Paul just isnt going along with their scenerio, so I am not surprised.....

Most of this is caused by the deregulation put in place by the republicans earlier. Many of the things done, which resulted in the large losses for people, would have been illegal in the mid90s.

I'm pleased to see someone fixated on the actual candidate rather than the R or D affixed to their name.
Ron Paul is the only candidate I personally find represents my beliefs.
He is the only man we have sent to Washington in a very long time that actually balances a checkbook reasonably well.

The other 434 creatures we sent there can't seem to manage that task they assume all the rest of us can.

Isn't that amazing?

Yeah--you can thank the Clinton regime for most of our problems right now. Bush is just carrying forward the torch.
