Why on earth does DHS need over 1.4 billion rounds of ammunition?

The number of bullets purchased by the DHS now adds up to a staggering 1.4 billion over the last six months alone. Although all those bullets won’t be delivered at once, the DHS’ commitment to purchasing such an arsenal of ammo is both worrying and ironic given that Americans are being harassed and treated with suspicion for buying a couple of boxes of ammo at their local gun store.

Seriously, as much as I don't care for infowars as a source, this tidbit of information is rather troubling.

Prison planet. I'd take the fever dreams of a drunk schizophrenic on acid as gospel before I'd put any credence in anything on Prison Planet.

I already said I don't like using them as a source, however that doesn't change the fact that DHS has purchased over 1.4 BILLION rounds of Ammo, more than enough to kill every American down to the last child, several times over...

How about instead of attacking the source (unless you can prove that DHS didn't purchase all that ammo), you address the underlying issue as to why they need that many rounds of Ammo, short of fighting a war, they don't need that much Ammo.

Training. Plus the ammo is, IIRC, for the next five years. Several thousand armed agents that need training over five years, plus some emergency stockpiling, plus your standard government pork, it's not an outrageous amount.

Has anyone else realized that this "the government/FEMA/CDC/DHS are buying tons of ammunition to commit omnicide!!!!" conspiracy theory crops up every few months and nothing ever comes of it?

In a conversation Wednesday afternoon with a longtime pal in the firearms field, he reminded me that there may be as many as 120,000 federal law enforcement officers of one type or another. This purchase would break down to about 6,250 rounds per person per year, which might be burned up in practice. That’s a plausible explanation, considering that I used to shoot up more than that in a year at the Snoqualmie Valley Rifle Club range.

This is just about one of the purchases, there have been other purchases which puts the number much higher than that.

Lets see, 1.4 billion divided by the population of the US = how many rounds for each of us? So they think they can off us with a mere 4 rounds each? Perhaps we best stand our ground now before they're prepared.
The current administration would only be concerned with half the population at the most. that leaves them with at least 8 bullets for each of us. Noting that they would then have one more bullet per person than they would allow us to have in any one magazine.

As much as we all like to chuckle at the Alex Jones rants, that doesn't mean everything he says can be instantly discredited just because it's Alex Jones saying it. AJ likes to use the buckshot approach, throw out a wide spray of information, everyone once in a while he comes up with an accurate hit (like how I used a gun pun )

In regards to the topic:

Lets see, 1.4 billion divided by the population of the US = how many rounds for each of us? So they think they can off us with a mere 4 rounds each? Perhaps we best stand our ground now before they're prepared.

I'm sure this is what AJ thinks their master plan is (stocking up to use against citizens who don't want to conform), however I think it's highly unlikely. (and actually, I'm sure they're not worried about opposition from babies and elderly so if you throw out those demographics, it's actually more like 10-12 rounds per person)

I'm going to say that I think their strategy is a little more subtle than that.

If they want the people to be less armed, they have the resources (money and preferential treatment with suppliers) to simply just buy it all up so we can't.

If they order a billion rounds, that'll buy them enough time until they can get legislation passed that will limit the number of rounds that people can keep in their home. When the magazine capacity limitations fail (and they will) and we have our first mass shooting conducted by a madman with three 10-round magazines instead of one 30-round magazine, they're then going to switch the focus to "well, the problem is that we don't have any limits on how much ammo a person can own at one time"

DHS buying 1 billion rounds is just a stall tactic to prevent people from stockpiling until they can get all of their desired legislation passed.

Yeah, as the saying goes: "Even a broken clock is right twice a day."

Ordinarily, I'd agree with you, however you have to look back at Fast & Furious and that makes me wonder if AJ's scenario is actually what they are intending to potentially do. They were more than willing to endanger the lives of American Citizens, get a Border Agent killed, and be the cause of thousands of Mexicans getting gunned down in Mexico; so it actually isn't much of a stretch to assume they intend to use those bullets on the American people.

In any event I think Eric Holder needs to be thrown in jail and Obama needs to be Impeached.
