WHY ARE THERE NEVER ANY DECENT TOURS IN THE UK!!!!!

For Example:
Sea Of Faces tour in the US
Tooth and Nail tour in the US

ANY TOUR WITH BANDS I LOVE NEVER COME TO ENGLAND!!

i saw Lifehouse in september and Yfriday with Steve in November i think but they're the nearest things to BIG christian rock tours that i've heard of we have here.

Makes me SOOOOOO annoyed!!!!
might make my own record label in the future to stop this happening :prayer:
maybe cause they like the good ole U.S.A.? :p ;)

Vegetales rock!
Crossrythyms is well cool but only plays in one county. Otherwise you got to listen to it online. Soz mate but Delirious still a classic. English born and bred. Bristol gig the other month was the best I'd been to in ages. No room to move but the atmosphere was gr8.

Big problem with U.K is records sold in Christian Stores don't count towards chart positions so Christian Artists don't get the recognition they deserve.

I have pondered this thread from a distance... it always sort of catches my eye, but I have not indulged as of late... perhaps the Brits in the room can (again) help us understand the realities in the UK...

To wit:

Here in Alabama, we get everybody. The reason is three-fold: Birmingham (AL) is a relatively large city; we are just down the road from Nashville; and the "Baptists per Square Mile" ratio is as strong as it is anywhere in the world.

My understanding of the UK says that it is essentially spiritually in serious decline (and has been for 40 years). The nation that gave us some of the finest theologians and Christian writers of the 19th and 20th centuries has lost its soul (so to speak). My youngest daughter is named "London Darby," in honor of J.N. Darby...

Combine that with the distance from Nashville and the costs involved in any European tour (travel, taxes, dealing with French People) and the picture looks a little clearer.

As for my band, we'd kill for a UK tour :)

Any chance the Cavern has some open dates? ;)

I have to say, that unfortunatly, I agree, Bleechers. I know that cost is like a major factor. I'd love to see alot of the US artists over here, but at the moment, I don't know if the UK market is big enough to be able to afford to bring them over. I know for example that a 1 day festival not to far away from me, is costing approx £60,000 to put on, and thats with just UK bands. The cost of getting artists over from the States would push up costs significantly.

Chris :)

Yea, ok, in terms of the revolution tour, there each event wouldn't cost that much to put on. I know the tickets for the T. Wells event only cost £7 and the venue holds a maximum of 650 people (Thats before we take off anything for floor space already used) That gives us a maximum gate of £4550. So, ok, things with costs like that are managable but in terms of making it viable for bigger artists when the stage area, lighting and sound can be specified in their contract, as well as the little question of there fee, costs can tend to rise.

Chris :o)
