I will admit that I didn't read all the posts before I started this response, but I'm gonna get right to what I think about Worship Teams.
Growing up, we didn't have worship teams, the Pastor would just appoint someone to lead praise and worship each Sunday night, for the next week.
Having said that, we just started a Praise and Worship Team in my church. It's only been a few weeks and already the devil has attacked all of us individually in many ways. Why, do you ask. I'll explain...
Worship, to me, is designed to usher in the Holy Spirit. To help the congregation let go of whatever happened during the week and lead them into true, selfish worship to the Lord. Music breaks chains, destroys bondages, and soothes the soul. It has healing power, and creating this atmosphere is crucial to preparing the way for the word of God and for the Holy Spirit to move and change all of us, leaders and members alike.
The devil knows the power that music has. When he was an angel, he was the minister, or leader if you will, of the music. He is using music for evil all over the world.
But no music is better than the true worship we can give our Lord and Saviour. Keep praying, keep fasting, keep fighting Satan, and please, keep worshiping. It is an invigorating feeling, it shakes you up, and it prepares you for the week ahead.
Much Love...................
