Since "evil," a rather subjective term that people typically choose to define as the "absence of God," as God is defined as the essence of "good" (another subjective term), the more apt question would be: why would a god who is supposedly present everywhere be absent anywhere?

Here we come to the interesting conclusion, of necessity from religious thinking, that all supposedly "good" and "evil" things are indeed two sides of the same coin: God. The fault, then, as always, is with us, or rather our perception. The result: fatalism. This, then, leads to The Great Contradiction: the presence of "free will" in a world dominated by the infallible hand of a supreme being.

So long as there is free will and options, it will be here until God gets rid of it all, which will be after the judgements and such. He wants us to have choices. Adam and Eve had a choice and their choice opened the door for satan to come into the world and make it like it is, w/ evil and etc...before that one sin there wasn't evil in the earth.

I completely agree with Lilly of the Valley. God has not created such a thing as "evil". Human beings were those, who created it. Since God has given us the free will and the option to choose which life we want to life, we are responsible for our actions in this world. We can do whatever we want, we can harm each other or we could help each other, but we will get the result in the life after this one. Yet, this would be the answer to this question in the Christian point of view.

The unreligios answer from me is, that "good" and "evil" always depend on the point of view. A thief thinks that it is a good thing to steal from rich people, because they have enough money, so it does not harm them to give a little to poorer people like him. The rich people do not think that way, of course. In their opinion the thief deserves a punishment.

Both point of views lead to one answer: Evil is in the world, because human beings are in the world, with all their mistakes.

No He doesn't. WE choose. He even said He sets before us life and death and we choose which to follow. He doesn't decide for us to sin and etc...WE do. In God's all powerfulness, He chose to give us free will, and thus He wills US to choose on our own. He doesn't choose for us.

Im going to post this in a new thread later on, but Ill take it here to. If God is allmighty, he knows everything that have happenes in the past and everything that will happen in the future. He knows our choices (if he didn't, he wouldnt be all mighty) and there for our choices is pre-dessided. Either God is not allmigthy or humans do not have free will.

I see you don't answer my question. What you are reffering to above (that we choose IN our lives) is not possible. If God knows what we are going to do, then we cannot possibly do anything else then God knows. Nomather what happens, there is only one option. If the future is dessided, we cannot have free will. What you are reffering to is imposible.

We do choose in our lives and God knows before our lives the choices we'll make in our lives. Why can't people see that.

Okay...the problem is you aren't seeing it correctly. I see what you're saying, but it's not right. The thing is God knows OUR choices. Yes we'll definitely make them, but we've chosen them, God just knows the choices we chose beforehand. It's that simple. It needn't be complicated.

Okay... You are about to cross a road. You don't know if you are going to cross the road or not. I pray to God and he of course know if you are going to cross the road or not. He tells me that you actually is going to cross the road. I tell you what God told me and this choice is is no longer a choice. You have to cross the road, there is no other option. God cant be wrong, right?

Right...but God knew that the person was going to choose it. He didn't decide for them, He knew they would decide that.
