I wonder what the 60,000 homeless people in Los Angeles think about giving illegal immigrants entitlements?

They're probably too worried about where their next meal, drink or fix is coming from to worry about being your political pawn.

Well, if we are going to "pick political pawns", I don't think it is wrong for an American President or his supporters to favor legal U.S. citizens.

I'm sure that the homeless people you'er using as political pawns are happy that you at least consider them fellow citizens.

And like I said, they're probably too worried about their next meal, drink or fix to be worried about politics.

They're often poor, hungry, and cold.

They're not stupid or uninterested in politics. They've often got strong political opinions.

Yeah, and I am just saying that they would probably be really upset to find out that the meal that they are looking for is going to an illegal immigrant.

Helping the homeless is not prevented by illegal immigration. If you're concerned about the homeless, lobby your local government to getting housing built along with healthcare (including mental healthcare) for the homeless. You're using the homeless as political props as nothing prevents you from helping them now. This is textbook whataboutism because we all know you would probably oppose social programs for the poor because of some misguided belief that being poor is the fault of those in poverty or some iteration of taxes for social issues is theft.

It was always a false news story meant to target Christianity. That's why it's been so slanted and edited.

In absolutely none of the coverage I saw was the religion of the MAGA hat wearing students ever the focal point, or even a point at all. That the students belonged to a Catholic high school was treated as purely incidental information.

At no point was Christianity targeted. Further, it wasn't simply media outlets that saw the initial pictures and footage and thought there was an issue, the school itself issued a statement, as well as a number of conservatives. At no point was this a "evil conservatives/evil Christians ..." liberals, conservatives, the school the students belonged to, etc all saw the same thing. It just happened that what was initially thought wasn't the complete story, when the more details came out, the media was there to report on those new details and to provide counter-balance to the initial outrage.

Because despite the propaganda, the American free press still practices actual journalism; and Christians are not being targeted at every toss and turn. I am a Christian in America, and while I take issue with how Christians are sometimes or even often portrayed in popular media (movies, television, etc) because Hollywood is woefully ignorant of religion (not just Christianity, but religion in general); but when it comes to journalism Christians are not a maligned group. I certainly am told that this is a thing, but I certainly don't see it happening. Considering that the United States is still between 70 and 80% Christian, the idea that Christians are some mistreated, maligned minority in America is an idea that simply does not square with reality.

A lot of homeless people suffer from drug addiction. Cheap heroin is flooding the country, it comes across our poorly defended Sothern border.

What coverage did the media give the Black Hebrews who taunted these high school children for quite some time BEFORE the fake Vietnam veteran, Indian activist showed up???

Making sure to repeatedly use the longer term/name--Covington Catholic High School or Covington Catholic--when "the students" or "the high school students" or something of that sort would be the usual for second and third mentions does indeed accomplish that objective. Democratic Party leaders and elected officials have a term for that technique: a "dog whistle."

Usually, as best as I can remember, referring to the school students are part of is normal. It's why "Parkland students" and not just "high school students" are used to refer to the victims and survivors of the Parkland shooting.

You're reaching--desperately.

Me thinks it would have been better if you had chosen to address what I actually wrote.

What I said was not that there was something amiss about naming their school, but that it was repeated in long form so as to include the word Catholic when that would not be usual for a second and/or third reference. Nothing you wrote in reply counters that.

And this is what I found almost right away when I did a quick search.

Your thread is no longer there.
Really? It should unless the link is bad. Here is a quote of the op.

During the last few weeks I have been rather active on the political threads. During this time I feel as though I have been a little to rash and inconsiderate of others and through much thought and prayer I feel like God has convicted me of the part that I have played. I have not been applying the teachings of Paul in Ephesians 4 nor have I been expressing the "gentleness and respect" described in 1 Peter 3:15. I also wanted to share with you that I fully understand that your political or theological positions are not a reflection of who you are as a person. Although discussions can become at times "passionate" try to approach them as if we were friends having these discussions over a few beers and not as a group of protesters at a Portland riot. I am not making this apology due to any complaints or warnings made to the MODs. The apology is entirely driven by the personal conviction I received by the Spirit. I will not apologize for the truth that I believe to have shared. Rather, I am apologizing for the lack of love, gentleness, and respect of how I delivered it and I will try very hard to be better about it in the future. Peace.

Edit: I also wanted to add that I am currently working on cleaning up my comments. If you would like to help me by messaging me regarding any posts where you feel I crossed the line. I will gladly change it no questions asked. Thank you.

The Leftist media wasn't showing the video footage of the racist Black Hebrews trashing the children when this news event first occurred. Your links were 4 and 6 days later. It doesn't fit the narrative of the "drive by" media. Only later, when others who were present uploaded their videos of what really happened, some retractions began. As usual the damage is done and the Leftist media moves on to misinform their audience over some other events of the day.

There are very few real journalist in America.

Perhaps you should go back and reread the post that you originally responded to. It wasn't just "The Leftist media". The news updated their reports as new information came out, because that's how journalism works. You have no valid argument here.

Just like in my example of Parkland, that's the name.

So my previous statement stands, and your statement addressed.
