And you think that somehow makes him liberal? It makes him God, that's what it makes him.Strict Jew?
Tell that to the money table He overturned...
A lot less than they talk about the apology tour that the most recent ex-president gave, to be sure. And the world talked about our "retarded cowboy"...
Liberals believe in liberty and equality.
Don't you?
I know what they believe and what they don't believe in. They don't see evangelicals as equals, that I know for a fact

Not in the support of slavery or anything like that of course, but much of the fighting to preserve slavery was done because it was actually a fight to preserve that particular lifestyle (the aristocratic lifestyle of the south) and slavery supported that lifestyle. Many turned a blind eye to the horrors of slavery because they couldn't bear to part with their comforts. It's not too far a stretch from what's going on in today's western society where cheap imported goods allow a greater percentage of people to enjoy things they normally couldn't afford if people were provided with a fair wage.Like when they were so consistently fighting to preserve slavery?
Ok, I decided to make a thread about this because I've seen this multiple times on CF now where people are criticizing science, liberals, etc. because they change their views, beliefs, opinions, whatever you want to call when they are presented with new information. To me, I don't understand why that it is a criticism at all. I was raised my parents, teachers, pastors, and everyone to question things, and when you are presented with new information that conflicts with what you current know, study and figure out which is right, never automatically dismiss anything as being wrong. In other words, when presented with hard, proven evidence or a good enough argument, the appropriate response is to change your views. I have changed my views multiple times on many issues, and would change mine.
Why is that such a bad thing? I was a bit dumbfounded the first time I ever saw someone say on here "the problem with liberals is that they're always changing their views to fit new information" and I just "that's what you are supposed to do." Can someone explain this to me?
Everybody KNOWS why conservatives don't want to change their views...
Conservatives fear that they can't compete in a changing world.
And they're right.
Totally disagree. Some conservatives are brilliant, adaptable, and moral people; always learning. So are a few liberals. You cannot judge by such a politically biased labels. And I have this feeling that you are not going to change your view.

I changed my beliefs dramatically when confronted with the reality that Jesus Christ is God. After that, I set down deep roots. Which brings me to the popular criticism which is that moorings of liberals are shallow. Personally, because I am a Christian, I have many conservative principles, but also some liberal ones when it comes to caring for the poor for instance. I just don't care about politics. I disagree with much in the liberal worldview, but before I was saved by the Lord Jesus, I was a pretty hard core liberal in many of my ideas. I've gone more to the conservative side by necessity, but I don't trust the democrats or the republicans. So, I don't have anything against liberals, but my worldview is opposition to theirs on many points, though agreeing with some. I have more agreement with the typical conservative on some subjects, but not necessarily on God, and that to me is the whole subject.
I think it's okay to change your views as long as you are open to an absolute truth. Your commitment should be to the truth and not to your preferences. That means you follow the truth where it leads. And when you find the truth of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you follow Him wherever He leads.
Those conservatives you mentioned who are brilliant and adaptable...likely are interested in conserving their wealth.
Otherwise, they'd be liberals.
It's not funny when Republicans make America the butt of everyone's jokes.
But they've done it again...
Turn about is fair play. Obama most certainly made America the butt of everyone's jokes throughout the world.
What? Do you know how many wealthy nongenerous liberals are out there? Absolutely as many as conservatives. Clintons, Gores, and now Obamas quickly come to mind (what hypocrites!), but I know very liberal CEOs and real estate magnates who are absolute Scrooges.
But liberals do know well how to garner votes by TALKING about sharing the wealth and taxing the rich to death. But I've looked at the stats. If every millionaire in the USA were to give ALL of their money and assets to the government, the effect would only be like a drop of water in a very large bucket with regard to our national debt.
Our nation will eventually collapse due to liberal socialistic policies. It has been correctly said that a democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government because voters eventually discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the government, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy and humongous debt, which then is followed by a Marxist type dictatorship, which then also fails. If you want chaos, develop a welfare society.
If you take away the motivation to work hard and make money from those who are creative and productive, then the entire nation becomes unproductive and the dependent parasites kill off their once healthy hosts. This is exactly why our nation is in the fiscal trouble that it is in.
You might want to change your mind on this one.
I guess that's why the Democrat Party is financed and largely owned by George Soros, Tom Steyer, Bill Gates, that kid who runs Facebook, the Koch brothers, Warren Buffet, and a bunch of other plutocrats. No conservatives there!
