Hi there! have you read John's First Epistle, near the end of the New Testament? It's all about assurance that we know the Lord Jesus. It's a short Epistle and it doesn't take long to read, but it's good to read it carefully and trustlingly.
I love to re-read it; there's such a lot of wisdom in John's First Epistle, and answers to a lot of questions people have.
that doesn't hinder you, you just have to figure out your heart not your head....God wants your heart and your head will follow
See that's where I think I am having trouble. I stayed up late last night reading the plan of salvation over again and it just seems so hard to me and it's suppose to be something so easy. That's why I sometimes start to feel and think that I am not meant to be saved and that I will never be able to come to trust in Him . And the thought of that makes me very scared and sad. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.
Let's get something straight before we go on....everyone is meant to be saved. So remove that thought from your head right now. God is trying to get through to you or you wouldn't be having all this war going on in you right now. My best guess is that you aren't talking to Him with your heart, only with your mind. God is spirit and as such deals with us on a spiritual basis not an intellectual one.
What is the result of trusting that belief? In other words, can you describe the doubt (that is to say, what is the contending belief?). There is a number of views one can choose to have when they doubt. For example, someone might doubt that Jesus existed at all, some might doubt that He rose and instead someone stole His body.. Can you describe the doubt that you are experiencing?
Well I think it's like what @razzleflabben concluded. I have been in the church my whole life and I know all the right answers. I mentally know and acknowledge everything i am just having trouble accepting them with my heart .
I am pressing for an understanding though, you know how it is eh? Once something is understood then the problem becomes so apparent it cannot be unseen. Are you willing to describe what you believe about the salvation in Christ as it applies to you when you are doubting? Does it feel like it is a lie? Do you feel like it applies to some people but not you? Please think for a moment before you answer this, as I can see you are quite active right now. Just think, for me to be here talking to you, I am requesting this information to get an understanding of your situation. Instead of just being the subject of my questioning, have a go at helping me to understand. Thanks!
I guess I kind of feel like it dont apply to me , though I know it does. I guess in another way im taking it for granted.
the very fact that you are struggling with this tells me that not only does salvation apply to you, but that God is wooing you to come to Him.
