Right, but why? We're talking about an activity with no harm to anyone outside the consenting adults performing it, and virtually no harm to them. Why in the world should the almighty creator of the universe care if we do that? Especially when you consider that many of us are hardwired to want this. It seems petty and meaningless, and simply makes no sense.

I see sin as a verb and being sinful is acting out on something and not just being something.

Are you familiar with Christianity and what it teaches about sin and God's judgment? If not, I could explain it to you. If you do, then you should already know the answer.

According to the Bible, God originally created us good (Genesis 1:26-31), and gave us a single commandment to follow (Genesis 2:17). Adam eve disobeyed, and brought sin upon the whole world (Romans 5:12), causing not just physical death, but a "second death" (Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:14). This "second death" is everlasting separation from God, which is caused by sin. Sin is defined as breaking God's Laws, or Commandments, or both (1 John 3:4).

Homosexual behavior is sin according to the Bible and, just like all other sins, results in punishment, that is, the "second death", eternal separation from God.

Why is homosexuality a sin? Because it goes against God's original design for sexual behavior, that is, between a man and a woman, in marriage.

Why does God care so much? Because He created us, to be in a loving, personal relationship with Him. When we sin and break His Laws, it hurts that relationship.

What has God done about sin? He's given is three institutions to deal with sin: the Government, the Church, and the family unit. When these three entities fails to do their jobs, sin goes unchecked and rules the nations.

Of course, God also became a man, Jesus, who paid the penalty for our sins, to make forgiveness possible to those who are willing to accept it. Those who do can enter into a personal relationship with God, who will help us become more and more like Him.

Ok true. But then how do you pick and choose? Why do homosexuals get repelled with such a strong voice, but divorced people, or people who have sex before marriage are accepted? That should then get the exact same treatment according to scripture.

An odd question I'd think for a Christian to pose. Why is something the faith calls wrong wrong if it doesn't last long?
Why not expand the question in a different context so as to see the conflict in this first question in the OP.

No, same sex sex isn't the same as robbing people or murdering people. However, it is a matter of moral composure that the scriptures of the Christians Bible are concerned . And the teachings of Christ are also a matter of moral composure and being created in his own image through faith having left the worldly material carnal nature behind. Part of what the ritual of baptism includes is to wash that old worldly self away and be reborn, as we are born from the water that is in our mothers womb nurturing us for those 9 months, into a new world.
How then is one expected to be reborn as a new creation in the image of Christ's message, when he was the message, the word, and ask how it is wrong to live as their old worldly selves while wearing his name as their faith?

This does not explain why he cares so much what we do naked. Homosexuals can be very loving, and also have the idea to have a personal relationship with God.

It's not like a practical joke that you pull on someone and then say, "HAAA! Just kiddin!" You don't put your face between another girls legs when you're not serious about being there.

There really should not be any picking or choosing: all of these behaviors ought to be condemned by Christians. However homosexuals get repelled because it's currently a hotly debated political issue.

Unfortunately, many Christians will condemn the homosexual simply for being homosexual, thinking they are doing something good. However, Jesus would have never done such a thing. We've done such a horrid job of loving people as Jesus would. To that, I am ashamed.

The idea of it? Sure. But not the actuality of it, if they continue to live in an unrepentant lifestyle of sin. I don't think you quite understand the seriousness of sin, which is why the "why" answer makes little sense to you.

Yet, that's not what the Bible teaches. If you have an issue with God, I suggest you take it up with Him yourself.

That last part is very odd for an atheist to claim sureness of.

Maybe you should crack open a Bible so as to know of what is being discussed. There are passages there that tell readers that God hates. In fact there is a list of the particulars.

You failed to make your point as anything but an atheist in this dialog when you made the presumptuous statement, no matter what scripture literally says....
What scripture literally is believed to be is the words of the God of the Christian and the Jew. Though the Jews do not accept the authority within the new testament unless they are of the Messianic variety.
You're attempting to argue what you prefer to read into the Christians Bible as an atheist. You can't win this debate that way. What the scriptures literally say is at the heart of this discussion that arose from the import of the OP.

The problem is the type of relationship in action. If one follows their LUST as a guideline
every type of sex interaction goes bad. This is the point of those passages. Some people
are born with gender identification from both sexes. How would we even judge if two of
the same gender are together? So....homosexuality is not the issue.

How the relationship is actioned is the issue. I'm called to love Jesus. He's a guy, so am I.
God seems OK with that. HOW I treat that relationship is the issue.
