I would have to say, without hesitation, that the forgiveness of God is what results in our repentence so I'd most definitely say that God's forgiveness of His chosen comes before their acknowledgement of their sinfulness, and thus repentence.

We disagree brother. The grace of God leads us to repentance. If Forgivness prerceeded repenatance why would there be a command to repent?
Luk 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Act 3:19
