Men and women aren't entirely equal yet, you also have to think about the women across the world. But we're getting there. It's okay, attitudes like Peters is why women become feminists in the first place, he's doing us a favor. :D

I can see the Almighty's work at hand. =)

And hes talking smack on divorcees as if they've been stigmatized by a scarlet letter "D". its kinda disturbing; people make mistakes, and saying things like "Im surprised they didnt kill their kids in nine months" is deplorable.

Yeah, that's the best kind of arguments anti-feminists can come up with. First they lie about feminists and what we believe. They don't want to take the time to learn about feminism and provide valid criticisms as to why the don't like it. So he has to tell me that I don't have any kind of dignity because I'm a feminist. It's really pathetic to have to stoop so low.

That's the best he can do, but it only makes me much more happy that I'm third wave feminist/womanist because I know where I stand.

well I'm fourth wave; hehe. =P

I'm not only a feminist, but also a masculinist. hehe. I'm gonna start the masculinist movement.

Oh man, don't do that, you'll attract all the stereotype/run around naked in the woods then play drums badly round a bonfire/stereotype critters that John whatsisname had as followers in the seventies. If you don't remember him, he thought men were being emasculated and needed to explore their inner warrior or something. OTOH, maybe they're all better at drumming now.

Okay, I got the decade wrong, among other things. Movement inspired by this guy:

Given the rise since the 60s in the purchasing of refrigerators, I think we can safely conclude that fridge purchasing is the cause of the increased divorce rate.

Given that Republicans have held the office of President 28 years out of the 50-year period between 1950 and 2000, it seems obvious that teh Republican Party is the cause.

All you have to do is look at the divorce rate since the 60s. Since second wave feminism divorce has skyrocketed. Feminism is the number 1 destoryer of marriages today. Read the "Proper Care and feeding of Marriage" by Dr. Laua Schlessinger

Schlessinger "received a Bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a Ph.D. in Physiology from Columbia University which included a 1974 dissertation of 114 pages entitled "EFFECTS OF INSULIN ON 3-O-METHYLGLUCOSE TRANSPORT IN ISOLATED RAT ADIPOCYTES"

Source: Wikipedia entry.

Number of citations in PsycInfo: 0
Credibility in social science: 0

Laura Schlessinger's picture is right next to "argumentum ad verecundium" in the dictionary.

Congress and Senate control the direction of government when at odds with the President.

LN...you might have taken me a little too seriously. I wanted to point out (with a snarky post) that you can't use correlation to state a cause (excepting certain caveats like exhaustive research and partialing out the variancei n the data).

The talk around here is of ecstatic gay couples who are so happy that the state will finally recognize them as being legally married! Normal people don't really care about that. If anything its a bad thing because the woman often can't collect welfare if they have a kid while she is married because her husband's income is higher. Even that aside, men and women generally care about the acceptance of their friends and family as a married couple. Government recognition of their marriage doesn't make any heterosexual couple I know "happy!".

i can understand how a homosexual couple would be happy because of government recognition, its actually quite reasonable...THERE HASN'T BEEN RECOGNITION FOR SAME SEX COUPLES BY THE STATE. for a couple that is homosexual, this kind of recognition is historic and that freedom will enhance the relationship, just as it does for heterosexual couple. sure the love is the most important part, but think about the joy for a heterosexual that their love is recognized by the state, and they are bound by their love, by the church and by the state, and then they receive benefits from that as well.

you say gay marriage is a sham, so heterosexual is in such great shape that it is perfect? these days, heterosexual marriage is such a sham. divorce rates rising, kind of sad these days that 1 out of 3 marriages end the first time around. the autrocities in that happen in heterosexual marriages. physical, sexual, emotional abuse, things that happen to the children in heterosexual marriages, such as molestation and all the things that we know that happen. if your going to call something a sham, offer something in return that isn't a sham instead of making slanderous comments about something if you wouldn't mind.

Men with identity problems. If a woman wants to remove every ounce of dignity she has, by all means become a feminist.

Yaaaaaay Bill Bailey!

He looks a little stressed in that picture. Perhaps he should ingest another copy of "The Little Book of calm"

""When you're feeling under pressure, do something different. Roll up your sleeves, or eat an orange"
