It is rude to tell another poster that her morals are "relative," whatever that means. That sounds like a slap at her.

13 years separate us in age. Girls can and do become mothers at age 13, which is usually unfortunate.

Need I bring up that the youngest recorded mother in the world was only 4. It could happen. (Not that it did. Just metaphorically speaking.)

Having said that ask most teenage girls whatthey have had to put up with because of a straight man. There are places (usually where there wil be a lot of people driving) where we know we con't walk down because we know there are going to be some idiots yelling things at us.

I have friends who live in the city ( where I soon will be living as well) it has happened more than once when one of my friends will be on a crowded train and then end up being gropped or rubbed up against.

Oh and of course the high school hallways. I remember freshman year seeing some of the football players play a "game" where they would try to "grab" as many of the freshman girls as they could. The list goes on unfortunately. But that does not mean i don't like straight men.. I know the majority would not do any of this.

Again, perverts certainly do not represent how most of us are. Its just gay men who do this, straight men as well.

It's not rude if it's the truth. Relative. Moral relativism. Means there's no absolute truth, and you're fairly relative yourself ohioprof.

I'll bet you've met lots of gay or lesbian men and women and you just didn't know. If you were to meet me on the street, you'd never be able to tell if I'm lesbian, same with Prof and all the other homosexuals on the board. It's not like we wear a giant sign that says so.

Your problem is the only recognized homosexuals were creepy. And that's the tendency that if they're overtly gay, they do it to be annoying. I had a friend who was like that, and even my current two gay friends say they wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole. It's a characteristic outside of the homosexuality that makes them that way.

I do believe that there is an absolute truth that is beyond human experience and human morals. I think that morals are a human creation. I do not believe that there is a fixed and absolute set of moral rules handed to us by God.

Not only that, but two that could easily have not been homosexual. From the description he gave, it's possible that he knew the first kid, but the second guy was just some random creep who was probably just out to freak out some kids.

It sounds like he just started with the assumption creepy=gay, and then deduced, from there, that gay=creepy.

Wow... People, all I did was contribute my experience of gay people- my personal experience with interacting with gay people who follow the lifestyle (making homosexual relationships, thinking it's okay, having sex, for those of you who don't know what a homosexual lifestyle is...). I made NO comment about whether or not I like homosexuals as a group. You guys need to pay more attention to words that are written on a page, because most thinking people would ask 'so what do you think of them if those are your only two experiences?' not accuse me of bashing them. I expressed no opinion but my opinion of the two that I've interacted with.

I do not believe that there is a fixed and absolute set of moral rules handed to us by God.

Do you enjoy assuming things? And you're talking like I can't read. For your info, the first is a guy I've had quite a few interactions with both online and on the phone and he's 15. The other is also 15 and is my sister's friend. The first I also know through my sister and have been around him a number of times and have driven him places with and for my sister, to Treehouse (a Christian-based youth outreach program, focused on relationships).

Now will you guys quit with the assumptions?

This might surprise you, Carmody — but speaking for myself as a gay man, I don't like it when I get cruised up in a restroom.

True story: back in 1988/89, what I thought was a bad "stomach flu" turned out to be an appendicitis attack, but I wasn't aware of what was going on. Occasionally, a piece of body tissue will wrap around an inflamed appendix in order to protect the body from the near-certain death which results if the appendix ruptures (and is not treated). Which is what happened in my case — except the appendicitis attack was in June, 1988 and it didn't rupture until February, 1989.

During that time, I lost loads of weight (one of the few times in my adult life I've been thin!) and I knew the location of every public bathroom within 50 miles of Austin. I'd get maybe a one or two-minute warning before I had to GO (and I mean, REALLY go!) and those of us who have ever been in that kind of situation learn how to cope (and part of that is knowing where every public bathroom is and how to get there, FAST).

So, one of those diahrreah attacks hit and I dashed into a rest stop bathroom where a guy was cruising other guys. Fortunately (miraculously!) there was an open stall. I made it just in the nick of time; and of course the guy walked over thinking I was interested in sex.

I tried waving him away, but he wouldn't take "no" for an answer and stuck his hand between my legs — just as I let loose with another blast of jet-propelled diahrreah. He removed his hand (now thoroughly covered in poop!), looked at me in abject horror, and started to gag.

I looked at him and said, "Well, I tried to tell you..." and the guy backed out of the restroom, keeping his saturated hand and arm as far away from his body as he possibly could.

Poor guy: we all could hear him gagging and throwing up back behind the rest stop restroom.

When the appendix (now abscessed) finally ruptured in February, 1989 the surgeons ended up removing not only the appendix and the flap of membrane surrounding the appendix, but most of my ascending colon and two feet of my small intestine. Once they get growing, abscesses have a tendency to grow (and it did).

True story.

No, that would be me getting kicked off the site. The person I most recently quoted quoted another person who was quoting me, and I talked about two guys. Does that make it easier and less confusing?

Well, I know plenty of creepy straight people — who seem to like molesting little girls, or beating their wives, or having serial affairs; and others have major problems with grandiosity and they really think they're the center of everybody's universe, while others have a complete inability to empathize with anybody or anything — but I don't go around assuming all straight people are like the ones I just mentioned.

Oh: the ones who liked molesting little girls — I turned them into the police. The guys seemed to have an idea that since I was gay, I wouldn't have a problem with them hitting on little kids. They were wrong. One is going to be up for probation next year, and I'm going to make sure he's not released from prison.

But it's kind of redundant to accuse them of assuming when you're kind of generalizing what all homosexuals are like.

But I would hope you would understand that not all gay people are "creepy" or "preverts".

Humans know the difference and that is why we use different terms to describe these wrong behaviors. Homosexuality is an objectionably wrong behavior while heterosexuality is not. There is no debate over whether males and females should have sex with each other, just the context. The same could not be said of homosexual sex because it has no context or purpose within the scope of human nature.

The reason homosexuals who engage and are active in the gay lifestyle get angry when their sins are pointd out to them is because they do not want to do God's will, but their own.

Actually, it's my observation that judgmental straight people get REALLY bent out of shape when quote Romans 2:1-9 at them; especially when I point out to them that in fact, they DO the same things as those AWFUL homosexuals.

Actually, Carmody — I don't have a problem with homosexuality.

The gays and lesbians I know in this forum don't have a problem with homosexuality.

All of us are comfortable with our lives, our jobs, our partners, our families — so I would say if there's anybody here who has a "problem" with homosexuality, it's you.

That gives you some choices. You can enter into therapy and figure out why homosexuality bothers you so much (when it obviously doesn't bother gays and lesbians — and most straight people, for that matter, anywhere near as it bothers you), and therapy can be quite painful but you'll end up getting a life you can actually use.

You might want to do a moral inventory on yourself — not the gays you don't like, or the lesbians, or the straight people who don't think like you do, or whomever else gets under your skin; but your own inventory of your own attitudes, beliefs, resentments and how those attitudes, beliefs and resentments affect you. This can also be painful — especially the part where you share the entire thing and your findings with another trusted person, but it's also very liberating. (I've done several of these: I always get to the bottom of what it is that's eating at me, even if I don't like the process.)

But I can assure you "the problem" isn't the gays, the lesbians, and their supporters on this board. You, Carmody, have a problem with Carmody.
