What has Christianity got to do with Christmas?
Unless you are visually impaired, try looking at the word again and tell me what you see.

Here, I'll help you: Christmas.
Frenzy said:
it's a Pagan holiday,
Er ... no.

It's Christmas.

Only scientists paganize it.
Frenzy said:
the tree the decorations the feasting is all Pagan,
Er ... no.

How is it you can see Paganism in a tree, decor, and food -- and miss the first six letters of the word?

I suppose I sholdn't be surprised though, since you scientists miss the first five words of the Bible; so I shouldn't wonder if you guys miss the first six letters of a word.
Frenzy said:
where does Christianity come into Christmas?
Bethlehem?
Frenzy said:
it was certainly not when Jesus was born,
Really?

Where did you even get that idea?

Have you been reading Christmas cards -- (or even just looking at the pictures)?
Frenzy said:
if Jesus ever existed according to the Bible he was born closer to April then December.
Oh, ya?

How is it you can ...

Well ... nevermind.
Frenzy said:
Could it be that Christians needed a time to push their religion so they commandeered the Pagan holiday and called it their own?
I'd say that's a pretty good assessment.

God simply got tired of seeing Saturnalia and worked it out that His Son was either born, or given credit for being born, right smack dab in the middle of this "holiday."

In so doing, He effectively broke its back and put an end to it.

I'd say that was a feat no scientist could ever engineer on their own.

I got the text below from this link, I know it's a JW site but you all believe the same things don't you?
http://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/questions/when-was-jesus-born/

Also here...
http://www.livescience.com/42976-when-was-jesus-born.html

And here......
http://www.religioustolerance.org/xmas_date.htm

Why is Christmas on December 25?
Since there is no evidence that the birth of Jesus Christ occurred on December 25, why is Christmas celebrated on this date? The Encyclopædia Britannica says that church leaders probably chose it “to coincide with the pagan Roman festival marking the ‘birthday of the unconquered sun,’” at the time of the winter solstice. According to The Encyclopedia Americana, many scholars believe that this was done “in order to make Christianity more meaningful to pagan converts.”

The truth is even if there was a person called Jesus no one knows when Jesus was born.

Aman777, you are forgetting that you need to give a solid, supporting argument for your views. Don't tell us, show us. What hard evidence do you have that God wrote Genesis?

Following is empirical historic evidence which shows the First Human farming on this Planet. http://www.fsmitha.com/h1/map00-fc.html Notice that the mountains of Ararat are in the top and there is a Big Lake in the CENTER of the Fertile Crescent. It's Lake Van, Turkey, the biggest Lake in Turkey and is some 75 miles wide and 1500 feet deep, a perfect place for the 450 foot long Ark to dock, which is what is shown in the story of the Flood. I also have video of where Adam's solid firmament is today in the Lake. Perhaps you could organize a search.

Noah and his descendants walked down from the Lake into the valleys of Northern Mesopotamia, the Cradle of Human Civilization on our Earth. Noah planted himself some grapes, made some wine, and produced the first wine on our planet, got drunk and naked and passed out in his tent, proving that he was Human. Noah was the FIRST Human to step foot on our Earth. The traditional religious story of the Flood does NOT agree with what is written in God's Holy Word. Want to know the real story?

***How could God have possibly written Genesis, when it gives two highly conflicting accounts of creation, to begin with, and doesn't fit at all with modern science?

Simple. Humans have been studying the scientific thoughts of Ancient men, who lived thousands of years before science and education. The Supreme Intelligence of Creation knew this and used this fact to assure that ONLY those with His Gift of Faith could be born again Spiritually. He wrote the Bible so that ONLY those with increased scientific knowledge, along with help from the Holy Spirit, and who STUDIED to show themselves approved of God, in the last days of this Earth, could possibly understand what He told us in Genesis. Dan 12:4 God hid His Truth in front of all of our noses for thousands of years.

The fault is in the traditional religious ANCIENT INTERPRETATION and Not in what is actually written, which has been hidden, for thousands of years.

***What things did God tell us that science hasn't discovered? An itemized list would help here.

That we live in a Multiverse. Here's the first glimpse: https://www.newscientist.com/articl...s-could-be-first-glimpse-of-another-universe/
That the beginning of our Cosmos was on the 3rd Day. Gen 2:4
That the First Stars did not light up until the 4th Day. Gen 1:16 This is a recent scientific discovery (Feb/2015) and reveals that the beginning of our Cosmos was late on the 3rd Day long AFTER Adam was made since it was only 550 Million-1 Billion years AFTER the Big Bang BEFORE the first Stars lit up. Want more?

***It appears to me that you are seriously misquoting Gen. 3:22. It doesn't say at all all what you falsely claim it does. Gen. 3:22 clearly states, "But he said,' The man has become like One of Us, (God-Trinity) knowing good and evil; what now if he reaches out and takes fruit from the tree of life also and eats it and lives forever?'" So you are way, way off, if you thought it read, as you misquote it above,

Knowing good and evil means that one is qualified to Judge. One of the Hebrew references to the word God is "The Judges". This ability is what separates Humans from innocent animals since animals do NOT have the ability to Judge. Only God and Humans (descendants of Adam) have this Ability. That is why we will judge Angels and EVERY other living creature AFTER Jesus returns to our Earth. Gen 1:28-31

***"All writers reveal themselves in their writings and so does God..." Have you even bothered to read the Bible? I wonder, and with good reason.

Sure I have and IF you haven't noticed, I put Scriptural references for the things I post. IF you would like me to explain my view on any of these Scriptures, just point out which verses you don't understand. You have probably been studying the superstitious thoughts of Ancient men instead of what is actually written. I also provide the agreement of God's Holy Word with Science and History IF it has already been discovered by mankind. Amen?

Isn't that basically what I said earlier?

Did you read my post?

So?

Suppose He was born February 29th?

God moved it right smack dab in the middle of Saturnalia and broke its neck.

I think the technical term is: pwned.

It's Christmas.
But if Jesus wasn't born at Christmas why are Christian celebrating on Dec 25th during the Winter Solstice?
Is that why they took over an existing holiday because they had no idea when their god was born or even if he was born?

Wow!

For the third time ...

Because they were told to?

God moved nothing you would just like to think he did.
At least I can think hard enough to give you guys food for thought.

You're just not hungry -- probably angry.

1. This is what is known, technically, as making stuff up.

2. Arguing against a fantasy world is a pointless exercise. You make unfounded assertions, ignore contrary evidence and when challenged to substantiate your claims, you simply repeat previously disproved arguments.

3. If you're not going to base your arguments in reality, then there's not point in attempting to engage with you.

1. False accusation with no evidence presented.
2. False accusation and too general. Be more specific.
3. False accusation since I post the AGREEMENT of Scripture Science and History, and you cannot. Amen?

That's just it you don't, you never write anything that makes an atheist think because most of what you write is foolish nonsense.
Please AV1611VET don't take this the wrong way [this is only meant to inform you] but most [if not all] of the atheists here simply feel sorry for you, you are obviously not silly but believe me you very often write extremely silly things.

You mean I don't counter an atheist on his own turf in obedience to that verse I quoted?

Atheists do not read the verses you post, who does? the verses mean a great deal to you but absolutely nothing to atheists,
to them the bible is just a religious book just like all the other religious books, they contain stories and that's it,
what does the Koran mean to you? it's just another book.

Neither are Genesis and Revelation, are they?

Genesis is a creation story and Revelation is a destruction story.
Darwin's Origin of Species is a scientific treatise.
Hitler's Mein Kampf is a autobiography.
