  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

That seems very reasonable. hehehe

So I'm seeing that wagging tongue ... and it reminds me of a saying we had when I was 12 or 13 ... so you want a kiss ... haaaa ... then we would go chase them as they ran for their life ... lol ... I've not been able to figure out why I didn't stick out my tongue more ....

Started young did ya? :D

Thanks for the idea dayhiker :D.

WHY don't we listen? Is it because we don't want to? Is it because we don't value what others have to say? Is it just because we talk to much?:D.

It's funny to me, kind of, because one of the things I have always thought about others is that "they just don't "get" me". I feel like sometimes I talk and yeah people hear me talk and appear to be listening but really they don't hear much of what I have to say. And sometimes I do the same to others. I don't listen because either I've heard it before (so I think) from them, or the topic is really boring or so about them, so I think we are ALL guilty to some degree. My kids don't listen to me, otherwise they would put their dishes away ALL the time. Or they listen and don't really CARE what I want, which I guess I could be guilty of as well. What about you? WHY don't YOU listen?
Sorry, but I feel I do listen well to others unless they are abusive toward me and then I get away from them. I was taught Active Listening. You listen intently to the person and look in their eyes and see what they mean by how they act and seem to feel. It takes practice but is worth it because then you have more meaningful relationships. You can do a search on it for more information. Active Listening is a learned skill. I'm sorry you have troubles with your kids listening.

Well it's more like they DO listen, and they DO hear me, they just don't DO what they heard me say. I think we could all use a course (well maybe not you, cuz you already learned it, but most people) in Active Listening.
