Why doesn't possession happen?

Why doesn't possession happen anymore?

In my journeys I have tried to summon spirits with a CM and some pagans. Nothing happened. I even prayed to the devil once years back to see if anything would happen...again nothing.

So why did supernatural phenomenon die off?

In Mountain of silence the monks see cool stuff all the time but why not the average person?

I don't get it. Been to some they are boring, cookie cutter, materialistic but no crazy stuff. Elaborate?

I have been to them where they dance and movie wildly. just look at the Toronto blessing, or Benny Hinn, or whatever and you can see how demonic that stuff is.

Demonic possession does not necessarily require "The Exorcist"-type displays.

Besides, ask yourself this, while the monks on Mt. Athos see demons on a fairly regular basis is it something that you could handle seeing or truly want to see?

Well if I saw it then I could believe in the war easier. I have been looking for proof of the supernatural for my whole life and never found any.

I have seen a study of brain scans of people in a wild pentacostal state. Interestingly enough they look similar to Monks in prayer scans. The difference is that speech or movement centers are activated but without concious control.

So it is basically a moving prayer state. Not really demonic.

No prophecies,no demons telling you stuff you would not have known,no avoidance of the cross. Just some crazy people dancing. Weird but not demonic.

The one study I read had a Catholic nun and monk, two Buddhist monks, and a pentacostal.

The Catholics prayed, the Buddhists meditated, the Pentecostal talked in "tongues" with 20 years experience.

The only difference was in the pentacostal the language center of the brain was lit up without the usual conscious connections otherwise it was similar to the monks brains.

In all brains the sense of self areas turned off.

When the Catholics felt God, their brains looked like the Buddhists when they hit their deepest state.

SNIP ...

All that that tends to prove, as far as I can see, is that people who have real faith in whatever it is that they worship as their 'deity' have the same type of physiological reaction. But, more importantly, what it doesn't show is the truthfulness and reality of whatever it is that they worship. A Buddhist might have the same change in brain function as a Christian does during their prayer sessions, but Buddha is a figment of the imagination whereas the Holy and Blessed Trinity -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- is not. Of course, that's my faith, and the Buddhist has his/hers ... so there you have it.

Your brother in Christ,

That is just normal illness not demonic.

What do you think it was that the ancients spoke of when they said someone was demon possession? You think the Gadarene demoniac would not be in a psychiatric ward today beibg treated with meds?
I have an aquaintence who suffers from severe schizophrenia, he stares up in the sky and has entire conversation. They can even be humurous, he was telling whoever he sees in the skies how he was sleeping around with some blonde actress from a sitcom. He turned to me and ask if I remembered her name. I told him I have no clue, he looked back up to the sky and continued how she was a hot you know what.( Im not kidding you.)

Guess who congregate in the skies?

Army you'd be surprised, afterall the word psychiatrist is greek for, 'doctor for the soul'.

Let me give you another real life story, up to you to decide. A few years back my sister reconnected with a school friend on facebook. Asked her how her younger sister was, even though she saw on her FB page that she had a brother which my sister never remembered. Basically the younger sister 'Chrissy' became a Christopher. Took serious hormone therapy, became musclebound like a weightlifter gym rat. She was also addicted to angeldust in which she literally claimed she can speak to angels by taking it. Ironically she denounced all other drugs as harmful. Anyhow she committed suicide.

One of the friends of this girl came to me soon after asking me if I can tell her alittle about the book of Revelation. I was surprised, she certainly wasn't the religious type. My sister then informed me that after the transgender committed suicide they found files and files of paper where the deceased was rewriting the bible! Basically she was putting to words whatever these 'angels' were supposedly telling her to create a new translation/version of the bible! Real bizzare stuff I was told

I can assure you in another time this would be a quintessential case of demonic possession.

I had a friend who worked in the cafeteria at Western State Mental Hospital in Washington state. The hospital was built on the grounds of what used to be Ft. Steilacoom and the cafeteria has a view overlooking a large field.

One day on a clear day my friend was picking up trays during lunch and noticed a patient looking intently out the window. He asked the patient what he saw out the window and replied, "oh, I'm looking at all the people in the tents".

It was a clear spring day. There were no people in the field.

Many years ago, in my youth, I participated in several seances and other such things. The things which happened were real. VERY REAL. I was never "possessed", but I saw enough to realize I wanted no part with it. I can only imagine what actual possession would be like.

not surprised at all. I don't understand what this has to do with brain scans and supernatural experience.
