It is strange though. You feel that you have the tools to understand, and interpret the Word of God. I wonder what you make of the following scriptures?

What about the passages?

I tell you that I have the Holy Spirit/Jesus teaching me, and you tell me I don’t have the tools to understand the Word of God???????

What I mean is that you haven't methods and tools to defence your statements; you cannot prove that your interpretation is correct and not wrong --- not even to your self. The only thing you can do is keep saying "Holy Spirit told me," and believe it; and ask other to believe it too. But, though I don't think you are a liar or that your experience is false, we cannot be sure about that. Would you believe if someone tells that "Holy Spirit told me that this verse means....;" especially if that what he says is against your understanding. I guess you would not.

Scripture tells us that we are to be taught by God. I am not asking you to believe me. I am asking you to allow Jesus/Holy Spirit teach you. No one can take the Word of God and prove anything. There are very learned men who have studied the Bible; their whole lives that see the same verses totally differently.

All I am trying to do on the forums is share what God has taught me. I don’t even expect anyone to believe me. My job is just to give a word. Jesus has told me and I expect he will tell all the people he has chosen. Jesus hasn’t even told me why I am supposed to give a word. My wife thinks it is because when people die and meet him, they can’t say they never heard it before.

I would like to add another scripture that tells us that Christians have the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which is given to God’s people to teach them about God.

(1 John 2:27) “But you have not lost the anointing that he gave you, and you do not need anyone to teach you, the anointing he gave teaches you everything; you are anointed with truth, not a lie, and as it has taught you, so you must stay in him.”

What does this mean to you?
Jesus told me once to stop trying to figure him out and just follow him. My trying to answer you would just be speculation on my part. Now he did tell me, thirty years ago, that a time was coming soon when man would suffer more than he has ever suffered. I was to give a word and leave. Out of that word a community would grow. He wanted a place of safety for his people. I haven’t seen any evidence of my giving a word, working to develop a community.

We can certainly confirm that statement from scripture.

I have had many people give me a "word" supposedly from God. Some of those words were true. Some were vile lies given by or thru "believers."

The observation provided by the other poster was that all words are to be measured against the Word that has already been provided, which in itself is quite a heavy and hearty handful.

Ultimately The Word is meant to "reflect" us. We read it, we handle it, we pray over it, we continually ask for "correct guidance."

Where The Word has taken me over a lifetime of experience is no different than what was already written. He Is Faithful to His Own Word.

Yet we also know that same Word also arouses resistance and falsehood. We know that the law arouses and empowers sin in mankind. We know that Satan comes to steal Word.

He is a most interesting dynamic. There is no variation between His Word and His Spirit. They are One and The Same.

Wherefore the division???... becomes then a most pre-emminent observation.

enjoy!

Hey Reformationist! - Good to see you again. Looks like we agree on something?

Good to see you too and, for both our sakes, I hope it's a good thing that we agree on it. :D ;) :)

God bless

Every christian have sinned deliberately; or do we sin unintentionally / unwittingly?
Are you not being presumptuous? How do you know every Christian has sinned?

I agree that all people have sinned. John tells us that. He also tells us that if a person sins they have never known God.

However:

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father [a mediator who pleads our case], Jesus Christ the righteous"
1 John 2:1 (KJV)

Something Adam didn't have when he transgressed.

Yes, but did you notice that John said, children? Paul told us this about baby Christians: (1 Corinthians 3:1-3) “Brothers, I myself was unable to speak to you as people of the Spirit; I treated you as sensual men, still infants in Christ. What I fed you with was milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it; and indeed, you are still not ready for it since you are still unspiritual. Isn’t that obvious from all the jealousy and wrangling that there is among you, from the way that you go on behaving like ordinary people? “

You want to ignore verses such as these: (1 John 3:5-6) “Now you know that he appeared in order to abolish sin, and that in him there is no sin; anyone who lives in God does not sin, and anyone who sins has never seen him or known him.”

(Romans 6: 10 - 11) “When He died, He died, once for all, to sin, so His life now is life with God; and in that way, you too must consider yourselves to be dead to sin but alive for God in Jesus Christ.”

You come back with verses that are talking to babies or don’t relate to anyone committing sins that lead to death.

Upon his new birth in Christ, one is given a new nature purposed that his character be altered by it. The new nature is of God who wishes to change your/my character by His life indwelling us. That doesn't happen overnight. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" John 1:12 (KJV) The power mentioned is His indwelling Nature we must learn to obey. Question: Is that not to be a trial and error thing in our life?
The Nature of God given us is the "imputed" gift of Himself. The Character of God is not a gift but "imparted" Life, as we learn obedience and work out our salvation with fear and trembling; learning to become the son He desires for Himself.

So what are you saying?

Yes there is a growing to become mature (spiritual). What committing a sin should tell people is that they are not truly, as of yet, with God. Nor do they yet know God.

I believe we were given an example in acts of what happens, not necessarily to our physical bodies, but to our spirits, when we know God and deliberately sin.

(Acts 5:1-11) “There was another man, however, called Ananias. He and his wife, Sapphira, agreed to sell a property; but with his wife’s connivance he kept back part of the proceeds, and brought the rest and presented it to the apostles. Ananias, Peter said ‘now can Satan have so possessed you that you should lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the money from the land? While you still owned the land, wasn’t it yours to keep, and after you had sold it wasn’t the money yours to do with as you liked? What put this scheme into your mind? It is not to men that you have lied, but to God. When he heard this Ananias fell down dead. This made a profound impression on everyone present. The younger men got up, wrapped the body in a sheet, carried it out and buried it.

About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had taken place. Peter challenged her, ‘Tell me was this the price you sold the land for? ‘Yes,’ she said ‘that was the price.’ Peter then said, ‘So you and your husband have agreed to put the Spirit of the Lord to the test! What made you do it? You hear those footsteps? They have just been to bury your husband; they will carry you out, too.’ Instantly she dropped dead at his feet. When the young men came in they found she was dead, and they carried her out and buried her by the side of her husband. This made a profound impression on the whole Church and on all who heard it.

It all boils down to the question of love. Do we love Him more than our own individuality; our own little world of evil that dictates, "Have things your way"?

Yes and love is also something that is given to us. When we let the Holy Spirit guides us, we will live God's Word. That is how we love God, and also our neighbor.
