Why doesn't God show Himself more? If God revealed Himself in some visible way to His people, wouldn't it be a great encouragement to us all, especially those of us going through suffering?

God did reveal himself, by becoming a man and redeeming us and allowing us to know him, sending the Holy Spirit you get the idea.

So your question is why doesn't he reveal himself more, I think that is so we have faith in something we can't see.

You also said, "especially to those who are going through suffering". - I would assume this is also to build faith and trust in Him.

I am not saying I don't think that myself, especially when going through trials, but I do know that conformity to the image of Christ is the end goal.

I'm sorry but this makes no sense. Why does God want us to have faith in something we can't see?

How does not seeing and hearing directly from God build faith and trust? Are you saying that if God were to appear before you in His splendor, your faith and trust in Him would weaken?
Well, I am wondering if I m doing the right thing by getting into this; "Discusion?"; I am not sure what the op's agenda is; but I sugest you do a study on Hebrews 11:1 from a Bible version that is reputable to see what faith is; and then go to Hebrews 11:6, and I think you "should" see that you cannot please God without believing without seeing; May God bless, and guide you. There is no way you can understand without the Holy Spirit living in you.

I agree 100% with 2win,

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

You must have a problem with God and His Word if you are still questioning this. - Ask God not me, His Word clearly says have faith in what you cannot see.

I'm not saying anything I am merely quoting scripture.

For this question, we must, again, repeat that God is seen in the creation, and was here, bodily, in the form of human flesh. When people could see and touch Him, they went about to destroy Him. It is not that God does not reveal Himself, but that He reveals Himself to His own. His presence means judgment to those who know Him not, and that He does not know as His own.

If God revealed Himself in some visible way to His people, wouldn't it be a great encouragement to us all, especially those of us going through suffering?
If you are enduring suffering for the Lord's sake, and not for your own mistakes, God would reveal Himself more to you, and you will have the encouragement you mention in the OP.

1 John, Chapter 4
1 ¶ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
