It's called looking into Christian history instead of reading the bible and listening to your local preacher.

Christianity didn't stop recording their writings and beliefs with Revelation and take it up again with Martin Luther.

We know and have the writings, the meetings, the conflicts and history. But protestants are brainwashed into the mantra of sola scriptura....

"Go by the bible alone!" "Listen to what *I* have to say about the Word!"

We can look at the writings from every century of Christianity and yet protestants almost never do this. It's the bible and Joel Osteen. Protestant seminary is the bible, some preaching classes, and a buch of Reformation nonsense.

"Since the beginning" by who?

As you know, that's just talk. The people who have been prompted and primed to say that line have no idea what was believed at the beginning--and it certainly didn't include all the notions and superstitions that the Reformation had to try to set right in the 1500s.

Well, actually, Protestant churches do exactly that. They do not rely upon cute sayings like "We believe what the church has always believed" or "the church that has never changed" or similar one-liners that substitute for a knowledge of church history.

In fact, it's part of Protestantism to know church history, since the raison d'etre of Protestantism has been to reform the church and return it to Biblical and Apostolic standards, IOW the early church.

If you really think that's true, there is absolutely no reason for me to continue replying to you.
Well, it's undeniably true and we could easily show examples of beliefs and practices that show it. But if you want to exit now, that's your choice.
