"Since the beginning" by who? I assume that the beginning is, for most Christians, the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the 120 brethren (and sisters) in the upper room. If so, then the authoritative documentation would be that penned by those who were there, would it not?
It's called looking into Christian history instead of reading the bible and listening to your local preacher.
Christianity didn't stop recording their writings and beliefs with Revelation and take it up again with Martin Luther.
We know and have the writings, the meetings, the conflicts and history. But protestants are brainwashed into the mantra of sola scriptura....
"Go by the bible alone!" "Listen to what *I* have to say about the Word!"
We can look at the writings from every century of Christianity and yet protestants almost never do this. It's the bible and Joel Osteen. Protestant seminary is the bible, some preaching classes, and a buch of Reformation nonsense.
