There just has to be many, many cases of people who's lives were changed for the better due to the influence of Islam. Islam must be credited with the potential to alter one's state of mind, (in some cases,) for the better than what it was before, change one's attitudes, desires, mental composure and actions in such a way that their associates would have described as an improvement, but I am a still a Christian and not a Muslim because the Being who stands behind that faith has changed forever my very nature and heart, and this is not possible at all for anyone other than the one and only true God. The first line of credits is simply a matter of sheer discipline and reorganization...The second requires a Creator.

why do i reject islam? Here are a few reasons.

1. mohammad himself did not know if it was from God or a demon(his visions.) he had to run to his wife and cry to her, and have her cover him up. aw. the poooorrr baaabbbbyyy.

2. muslims put too much of an emphasis on the hadiths. and let me tell you some thing.. muslims believe that ANY hadeeth that contradicts the quran or that contradicts what they personally think is right, then they label it as "weak." the problem with that, is that if there is ever an error in the hadiths, the muslims just throw it out, so even if mohammad DID contradict himself(which he most certainly did) they just throw it out.

3. I do not believe that we all have our own personal "jinn."

4. I don't believe satan urinates in our ear at night.

5. I don't think satan sleeps in our nose.

6. a rooster does not crow because they see "a jinn."

7. all of what mohammad taught was what was nothing out of his norm.
Example: his teachings on Jesus. he simply stole it from khadija. khadija was a member of a breakoff Catholic sect that denied trinity, and denied the Jesus was the son. they used many gnostic texts, and they believed that Catholics worshipped the Virgin Mary.
>> so it is not a surprise that mohammad taught what he did (example, he said that Christian Trinity is Father, Son, and Mary LOL)

8. God does not change his mind. and i am disturbed with the islamic view of abrogation. Why one minute you pray to Jerusalem, but then when you get mad at the Jews, "allah" all of a sudden changed it to mecca? That is ridiculous!

9. mohammads "revelations" and "abrogation" all came exactly when it was convenient for him. for example, one time mohammad told all the people to fight during battle. but then a blind man came to him and said that he couldn't. So all of a sudden a "revelation" came to him.

10. A prophet can not put themselves above the Law. mohammad taught in the quran to have 4 wives. yet he had 12.
why is he superior! it is ridiculous!

Those are just 10 of many, many reasons(at least 50) why i don't believe islam is true!

Just that I figure that in order to be a Christian, it's necessary to reject Islam, no?
The other part of the answer -- I don't go to football games and surf big waves either .... they are choices I have not explored.

People are too busy to delve into every option in front of them. But it doesn't mean they have rejected what they have little exposure to.

Belief is not really about picking and choosing, as it sometimes seems. We each believe what you believe, not what someone else tells us what to believe. It is something in the heart as well as the mind.

Choosing one religion over another isn't a matter of slamming what we don't agree with, though. You asked why we reject it, and it's simply a matter of choice. If someone believes in one supreme Being, they don't also pick another supreme being to worship.

You pointed out that the histories of both had similar roots, and that's fairly well documented. If you look at the life of Muhammed, it is clear that he studied Judaism. And both recognize Abraham as a forefather.

I wonder, though, if you're not just asking why we don't follow Islam, but why there is warfare and suspicion between nations.

People also say cruel things, but remember that it is an individual's responsibility for what they have said and done, and they rarely represent their whole group's stance.

Because the god of Islam is one that loves only his followers, and hates all others, or so I have read in Al-Qur'an. However, as we all know, our God is love. We cannot know God, if we don't know love. For God so loved the world, not just believers, but unbelievers and believers alike. Also, the tid bit that violence is okay in defense, goes against my pacifist leanings.

If you want to get technical Christianity, killed their share of infidels. All religions in some way shape or form have attacked someone else. Also, not all Muslims are terrorists, I happen to have learned about the religion, I have no problem with it, and thought about practicing it before.

You are correct.. however... not all religions say that this is a good thing to do.. and not all people that march under a "religions" banner.. are examples of that religion, or it's people.

I found it funny.. that I did not see one person here say that Islam was a religion of terrorist, but simple matters of contradictions and problems with the holy scriptures and traditions.

Which was a good thing to see.

God Bless

While the Bible makes many claims about history which have yet to be directly substantiated (though with ancient history this usally means we haven't dug it up yet), islam makes claims that are directly contradicted by our record of history. Christianity as it is summed up in the nicene creed has been practiced since the inception of the faith, this really isn't in dispute by serious scholarship. Islam, however, makes claims concerning what the Bible says or does not say. For instance, apparently, we worship three seperate gods named Allah, Jesus, and Mary, and all our original copies of the bible (apparently the modern ones are doctored) say that Jesus never died. You can see why I might find this silly.

some people reject people of different faiths.

I do not. I would preach Jesus' words to anyone, anywhere without being biased, hateful, judgemental, scrupulous, worried, fearful, or rejecting of anyone's ideas, faith or belief. Opebly saying "This is why we hate muslims/this is why they're wrong/this is why we're right/this is why islam is false/etc,etc,etc" is NOT what Jesus would have done.

Yes He said "Believe in the only one true God our Father through me", but he didn't say reject all those who do not believe.
