Why do you consider yourself a Seventh Day Adventist?

Is it your contention that there is one who understands? Which "one" would that be? If it is left up to me to understand, will I ever?

Is it your contention that men are not to tell others about the good news of the free gift of salvation by grace through faith? Or do you conclude that man is to keep his mouth shut when folks claim that salvation is by grace through works?

Is this a discussion forum where folks are free to explore various ideas relating to SDAs and to SDAism? If not, why not?

BTW, where are your discussions regarding the errors you hold?

Don't confuse the issues. The good news of the gospel cannot be changed to good advice. You were speaking of error having been revealed to you by God. Did God provide special dispensation for you or does He reveal error to all?

I see no basis for concluding that He reveals everything that can be known on every possible subject to any one person. There is no one who understands. However, I also see no basis for concluding that He withholds relevant information regarding His gospel from any person. With respect to the gospel, I have received no special dispensation. But, as a co-equal recipient of the gospel along with countless other recipients of the gospel, I have a calling to present the gospel and to make disciples. Don't you?

Now, where are your discussions regarding the errors you hold? Have you concluded that you have found all truth; that you are the recipient of some sort of special dispensation? You seem to enjoy challenging people, but seem to be resistent when your own challenges are offered back to you. Why is that?

Is this what you meant to say - that we embrace error?
I believe your emphasis was on the "embrace", as a love affair.

The testimony in Proverbs 8 concerning the simple young man brought into contact with the subtil woman in harlot clothing speaks to an "embracing". She caught him and embraced him and with her fair speech she caused him to yield. She forced him with the flattering of her lips.

She promised they could be filled with love. Her husband was away.

Many strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Do you believe that SDAism is the one denomination that does not embrace error?

I've never met someone who embraces error. I've met many people who embrace worldviews that appear to be partially erroneous.

Are you one of those people?

If the Bible is correct when it asserts that there is no one who understands, then shouldn't I conclude that I am one of those people?

The interesting thing about error is that, once a person realizes that it is error, such person is likely to reject it. Most errors exist because the person does not yet recognize the belief or teaching as error.

Sentipente has asked for my discussions regarding the errors I hold. I have provided such discussion with respect to the errors I've held in the past. For example, I have discussed the fact that I once believed that the seal of God was dependent upon on my law keeping rather than the Spirit. I cannot, however, discuss the errors that I currently hold because I do not yet recognize them as error.

P.S. One might wonder about the difference between Sentipente's use of "hold" and my use of "embrace." Are you objecting because you believe "embrace" suggests a tighter hold?
